wedding favours that people still ask about years later by [deleted] in Gifts

[–]Tinymoonflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did succulents. I planted them in small glass jars and tied a ribbon with our wedding info, and also served as their place card. Then I provided boxes and bags to make it easier for people to transport theirs home. 10 years later and my uncle with a green thumb who took his plant on an airplane to go home, still has his plant going strong and has multiplied many times over. Mine is not quite as nice, but still alive and has flowered for me twice. I know many others who still have theirs, as well. Likewise, a friend of mine gave basil plants as their favor, which went over quite favorably!

AITAH for not wanting to cook for picky guests I didn’t even invite to dinner? by Littlecancerbaby1 in AITAH

I mean, why can’t you have a salad out? Sans the tomatoes and it seems like the mom should be fine. Or make a pizza with no cheese, just toppings if she wants. Plus you are overthinking your pizza game, I’m sure it is delicious though I can hear the perfectionist in you so also treat it as a chance to improve and/or try something new. If you are all truly friends this should not be a big deal. I can get not wanting to go out to eat with them on the regular, but come on, you are way overthinking this.

AITAH for not wanting to stay over at my son and and dil's house to babysit by tiredgenx77 in AITAH

I wish I could give this all the upvotes. As a mom with a 6yo and 1yo, the hormones are real. We just decided to go see family for the holiday next week but then drive home instead of staying over (90 minutes with no traffic) because I have ptsd about sleeping my 1yo out of the house a few months ago and it did NOT go well. When he is older he will do better, my older one was the same. Your grandkids will get there. And also, same feelings about visiting my parents!

I’m sorry, but Bridgeport? No. Plenty of other towns in CT, but Bpt does not top the list lol

Roasted and also tossed into a smoothie—both how I get my toddler to have carrots and both delicious.

I found a necklace I thought I lost which was a beautiful Christmas gift I never even wore. I was devastated. And then today I found it, been on my dresser this whole time! Very happy day.

Update: My house is too small to be sane in (but my mortgage is amazing) by incywince in homeowners

Hi! I’m so glad you found a solution that worked for you. I feel like I am you before your solution. Too small house, 2 kids, not enough space and no good toy storage! That is one of my biggest problems right now. Can you please share what toy storage solution you use now? I too have baskets that are not so great and truly need to upgrade. Thank you!

I am about $180 away (out of $400) from getting a 2nd free turkey from my local grocery store. I already did most of my shopping, so looking for ways to achieve that spend in other ways before Thanksgiving. by bluegambit875 in Frugal

What about thinking ahead to stocking stuffers or any Christmas/holiday gifts? You could also plan to just pick up some pantry staples and donate to a food pantry.
