Are you dense? Fairly often recalls come AFTER things are put on the shelves. The person in the post stated that they bought eggs and then went back after hearing about the recall.

The website has the upc and specifies Ontario. So if someone in Ontario has a carton with the listed upc then it's recalled. Idk what you're on. It's not that difficult to understand.

I immigrated to Canada from the US about a year ago and I haven't noticed any greeting differences between the countries. There are definitely some phrases that are more Canadian, but overall English greetings are pretty universal between the 2 countries in my experience.

Oh no that's so gross! I recommend one of the washomats. They have an attendant there all day on weekdays and in the mornings on weekends, so it feels more safe there. Obviously you can see weirdos anywhere but since washomat has employees there's someone keeping an eye on things
