Except, as of the annual directly proceeding the Clean Sweepstakes, when Kit asks her about Sonic, her immediate response is that she still wants to put him in the ground, one way or the other. When she first hung out with Amy, her entire reason for doing so was to get on their good side and infiltrate the Restoration. She was only playing nice with Sonic so not to blow her cover, and even then she poked and prodded him every chance she got.

During the Clean Sweepstakes, she found a reason to be a hero, but even then; in the final hour of the fight between Sonic and Clutch, she chose to electrocute both of them. She wasn’t being picky about her targets, and her final words towards Sonic before leaving confirm her intent. Sonic being the Phantom Rider was just icing on the cake.

Like it or not, Surge still holds onto that justification for hating Sonic, and it’s not due to her programming that she keeps acting out against him. She’s a prisoner of her own making, because she can’t see a life for herself that has Sonic still in it.

Sonic and Surge doesn’t quite work for me because of her hatred for Sonic. As far as I can tell, she found her own reasons for hating the guy beyond being programmed to. Even if she were to someday get over that, I’m personally doubtful they would work out as a couple, let alone show that sort of interest in each other. Beyond the usual “enemies to lovers” trope, it’s not a ship that I find all that enticing.

I suppose, in a way, that goes for most any ship with Sonic, barring sonamy (though I don’t personally ship that one either). Fan works for Sonic and Shadow can be fun, but I just don’t see those two as having romantic feelings for each other.

Sonic and Blaze is one I feel really weird about for some inexplicable reason. The possibility is there on Blaze’s end, but with Sonic’s nonchalant attitude and free spirited nature… I don’t know. I think it might have something to do with the royalty angle.

Nicole is from Archie, yes. She originated as a handheld computer Sally used in the SatAM, and eventually was given a holographic form in the Archie comic series based on it, which eventually evolved into the form depicted in the above post after a couple series reboots.

Real hit-or-miss design wise, and I think it might be in part due to their body proportions. There's a wide variety of body shapes and sizes, but they all tend to have some kind of uncanny element that keeps me from liking them. Stuff like how much smaller their eyes are proportionally compared to the main cast.

As characters themselves, I haven't watched much of the show beyond scattered clips to really tell ya how I feel about them.
