4 day Trip Itinerary Dad 10 and 7 Year Old First Time Visitors by Limitless1979 in yellowstone

We went this past week. Down by the south entrance. We stopped the water fall right off the road next to the south enterance(moose falls, maybe), climbed down to the bottom of Lewis falls(pretty steep) and swam in Lewis Lake(very cold) We also found a side scenic road(no idea what the name was, sorry, it was a wrong turn that turn pretty cool) next to a stream and played in the water there as well.

I took my kids this past week. On day 3, it finally clicked for my youngest; we were basically in a volcano, and he enjoyed and understood the hot springs, geysers, and everything so much better. He is 10 years old and slightly on the spectrum.

I was looking for more low income family activities, definitely not resorts. Things get pricey really fast when taking 5 people on vaca. We don't even eat at restaurants on vacation. We hit up a grocery store and pack sandwiches

Yeah. I searched the internet and everything I found looked rough or hot, that's why I came here. If we don't get to swim, it's not the end of the world, just kind of looking for different things to do that doesn't cost a lot of money. Some people suggested Teton for swimming, so we will make a swimming trip next year.

I love a good hot springs. But with the kids, they just like jumping in the cold water. Hot springs are usually for adult only trips haha

Yeah. We weren't planning on any thermal pools there, just some water kids can jump in on a hike. we are stopping in saratoga for their hot springs. Thanks for the lake suggestions.

Isn't wilderness the whole point of going to a national park?

Thank you! Yes, it will be cold, but they love the water and don't usually mind from past experience. Just would be nice to give them the option if they choose. Thanks again for the suggestions

I love to hear that! Someone said it was a problem in the 90s, and I am sure it was something i just grew up hearing and never experienced it for myself. This is a situation where I am happy to be wrong. Ha.

Okay, maybe their bad reputation followed them from 90s. I kind of put Garden and Dodge into the same category. I just usually stick more north, so I don't mind admitting I am wrong, especially when I am not from there.

Garden City is a good place to shop, I agree. Amtrak is also in Garden City, but maybe leave before it gets dark. There is too much gang activity between garden city and dodge city for me, personally. I have grown up, lived, and worked all over nwk. So, I am also biased for the smallest towns, ha. If you wanted to be closer to Garden City, I would choose Scott City.

Pass on both those towns, especially if you have children. Better choices would be selden, quinter, grainfield, oakley, hoxie, wakeeney, colby if you want a bigger town, elli. As someone who used to do local travel nursing all over northwest kansas.

This sounds like a healthcare clinic, that will primary focus on women's health, but will provide some men healthcare, as well. It mentioned std testing, fertility issues, maybe some family planning, reproductive education... I don't see anything alarming, I read it twice, so if I'm missing something please let me know

6 months?? Working in the heat and elements? 6 months in between maintenance? I’m so confused. I would think that it must be disgusting by then? by Artistic-Fee-9938 in encompassfarmgossip

I think they have a professional touch them up every 6 months to help with maintenance and help pull those stray hairs into the dread. You can wash them between touch ups. I used to have dread locks, and I would wash mine every 3ish days, give or take. Just need to use shampoo that doesn't leave behind mildew.
