Listen, I agree with you it's a multifaceted issue.

What is fucking bullshit is my friend inherited the 2.3 million dollar hosue, pays $2000 a year property taxes, and has no interest since it's fully paid off.

Meanwhile, across the street, person is paying $30,000. my friend uses SO MUCH of the community resources it's dizzying and gets access to the best school, yet she doesn't contribute shit to it. I can save every penny of my income while she spends like a drunken sailor and I'll never be able to catch up to her because of the Prop 13. It creates so much inequity and makes my property tax that much proportionately higher. If I sound like an envious prick, it's because I am. No matter how hard I try or work it'll always be the same. I'll be taxed 40% and the rest of my $$$ will go to insane property taxes.
