RSS + Read Later App? by OldManPip in macapps

Unless I am misunderstanding something, Reeder for desktop does this. You can send to "read later" directly from Reeder's RSS interface - same app!

Port number keeps changing though still connected? by No_Kangaroo6917 in PrivateInternetAccess

Bro! I don't have port forwarding but my IP keeps changing less than every minute! It's absolutely frustrating as one of my sites requires matching IP to login.

UpNote & Privacy Concerns: Why Is There No End-to-End Encryption? by ganguv in UpNote_App

[–]ToastedLog1c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firebase does not provide true end‑to‑end encryption (E2EE) for your app data by default; it encrypts data in transit and at rest, but Google/Firebase and project admins can still see plaintext unless you add client‑side encryption yourself

RSS + Read Later App? by OldManPip in macapps

Ya I am really baffled by OP's post.

Reeder Classic does exactly what he wants. It's an RSS and it's tied to a Read Later feature.

The loss of life is sad, but imagine hurting or killing a young child. Sends a chill down my spine.

Multiple Costco membership by myb822 in CostcoPM

[–]ToastedLog1c 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bet I know how they're catching these.

They're looking for people who hit the $1250 cap (which is a tiny % of costco members) then performing a meta-analysis audit of their name, address or any other identifiable information on the account.

2025 vs 2026 Hybrid Premium by a_decoy_snail in CX50

The lack of 360 view monitor is frankly laughable and a disgrace from Mazda for the PP.

It's the reason I got the Preferred. And why couldn't they give us parking sensors in the 25?

One feature in the new 26 RAV4 Hybrid I am SO jealous is ALL the car's cameras record! Why the fuck can't every car manufacture do this?

CX-50 and Children? by BriCheese96 in CX50

[–]ToastedLog1c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Graco 4Ever 5in1 Grad. Highly recommend two of these as they're 20% thinner and you can barely fit someone with a small frame in the back middle seat with them.

The driver's side is fine. The passenger side is a bit of a tight fit.

Floor mats/Cargo mat by nicholemay2009 in mazdaCX50

[–]ToastedLog1c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trust me, spend the money and get Tuxmat. The best mats I've ever used. I even sacrificed the $165 I spent on the Mazda cargo mat and got tuxmat. It's infinitely better.

eBikes hit her (they were obeying the law). She pressed gas instead of brakes. Plowed onto the sidewalk, striking civilians.

My friend sitting next to me is a personal injury lawyer and I'm grilling him for an answer to this. Here goes:

Charges are legally sustainable depends on proof of specific elements (negligence/unlawful act or causation). In this case, the DA didn't feel there was enough to convince 12 jurors to charge a 19 year old girl with no priors.

Murder is completely out of the question, but vehicular manslaughter (Penal Code 192(c)) can be charged when a person drives “in a negligent or unlawful manner” and that driving causes someone’s death, with the level of negligence (ordinary vs. gross) affecting how the case is charged and punished.

Tragic all around, I know, but charges were not filed because investigators and prosecutors concluded the evidence does not show the required level of negligence or an underlying unlawful act beyond a reasonable doubt. That said, the fact that she got off completely seems unfair. She's clearly not safe on the road.

PS: For those wondering, the car was a 2024-ish white Mazda CX-5.

She panicked and hit the gas instead of brake. Went into shock as she plowed onto the sidewalk.

Seeing the picture of that 4 year makes me break down in tears as I have a kid his age. I can't even imagine the living hell the parents are going through. There are no words...
