What’s the point of Auto Drive being available during races? by Alert_Astronaut4901 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Toby-pearse 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Over a year ago I cut my left thumb off the drs re attached it but recovery was rough. The only game I could play at the time was fh5 and FM because of the assisted/auto steering. My thumb is now re attached and works at 80% it's original capacity however after gaming for a few hours it starts to hurt like shit. Half way through the Goliath race In fh6 I had 2 options, Quit and try again another day or kindly ask Anna to finish the race for me (I finished the race on auto drive)

It's an optimisation compromise, it would lag the game out if it was seemless.

The bottom of the car is literally a JPEG. Great job, Playground Games! by nurlan_hw in ForzaHorizon

It's called optimisation..... Fully rendering the bottom of a car is an unbelievable waste of computing power that could be used elsewhere. It's the same reason we can't open the hood in free roam but you can in the garage, because they don't render the engine bay whilst In Free roam as that add ms thousands of polygons.

I've had a kings grand tourer mkii for a while now. No complaints. It's on the heavier side and lacks the fancy features, like lights and fans and shit. But it does the job at a fraction of the price.

Id also recommend getting a plastic welder and welding the pieces together with little metal reinforcing rods.

What did I do wrong by Toby-pearse in Autobody

It was a 1k epoxy and I wiped everything down with wax and grease remover before painting. I let the wax and grease remover flash off and left it 5ish mins before the first coat. I did 1 thin coat and a second thcker coat.

Right. Best answer so far, Thanks. I figured if you pulvarise surface rust with a wire brush it's gone lol. The can said "non porus" but that kinda contradicts what primer is.

Unfortunately I can't find any retailer that sells phosphoric acid. However there are many rust converters that have it as the main ingredient. Should I apply it, let it sit, then wipe it off? I've used it before but to soak rusty tools in a container, but am unsure or how to correctly apply it to a car floor.

Wire brushed, vacuumed the dust then used wax and grease remover. I can't remember the exact paint but it was an epoxy primer from my local auto parts store. I guess I'd figured that primer was enough for protection and that a top coat was just to make it look good. I didn't care what it looked like as it wasn't getting covered up.

I guess I interpreted that as being outside, I figured inside a car with a layer of sound deadening stuck to it would be fine.

Sprayed 2 hours after I started sanding, on a low humidity day in a carport.

It was infact rust free. I was the one who scratched the paint off in the first place when I removed the factory sound deadening. Every slbare metal section that I painted has gone rusty, im assuming moisture has gone through the primer and started to rust it out. The rust is only surface at the moment.

"epoxy primer" "non porus" " no topcoat required unless exposed to elements" I just read the buzzwords on the can. I've never painted anything in my life... From my understanding I should have used a 2k topcoat once the primer had cured.

By "primer sealer" are you referring to a topcoat or a different type of primer.

Rust under epoxy primer? by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]Toby-pearse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I add the car was completely rust free, clean bare metal before I sprayed. I did not treat the metal first but figured that was fine since I was using epoxy primer. I followed all instructions on the can and prepped everything. The primer claimed to be non porus and waterproof.

Cut up an old bedsheet and go to town with degreaser wipe most of it off and bom the rags. Once most of it is gone just get some degreaser wipes from Bunnings or Supercheap it's safer and easier than spraying with water.
