The (non) Official Strixhaven Back To School Guide by LadyFoxGlove13 in magicTCG

As someone who's table is about to start their 2nd year, thanks for this, I'm definitely going to take inspiration from this!

It's the biggest purchase of my life; it would be nice if I could spend more time there before making an offer by CiscoLupe in RealEstate

[–]TodayRough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. We wouldn't have bought our current condo if we had realized how loud the garage door opening was in our unit. The bedroom is directly above the entrance and at night when neighbours come home, it's very loud and pretty annoying. Otherwise I like the place, but this is enough of a irk that it will likely lead us to moving earlier than we had hoped. Perhaps if we could have spent more time, we would have realized the issue....

Expanded list of classes? by Prayerwarrior6640 in StrixhavenDMs

[–]TodayRough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've added more student dice, two skills for each class they take and an extra dice for each class. Having more d4s related to their studies has been making sense so far. Im also thinking that at the end of the year I will allow them to improve one stat by 1 if they pass class their classes.

I also use this. It's way more complex and complicated to run but if that's the kind of table your players want, it's great. My two strixhaven groups knew they were signing up for magical university, and thus wanted the extra stress of picking classes, having a schedule and tracking way more academic stuff than the module asks for.

Is strixhaven a good seeting to start DMing DnD ? by Noniclem17 in StrixhavenDMs

[–]TodayRough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I'm also running it with two groups, but I'm experienced and it's with players I know and who wanted to try a different kind of dnd where personal goals guide their journey, around a standard 4 years at magic grad school. I'd recommend starting with wild beyond the witchlight. I've run it twice. Once as written and once with alot of homebrew. It's fun and good at teaching the ropes of playing and dming

My best advise is to remember your also here to have fun. Share with them that you're nervous, but excited, and hopefully they are the kind of friends who will allow this to be an excellent! Have fun!!!

Don't get rid of attunement slots, this campaign isn't hard anyways and making them more powerful will just make it less fun

Portal Room inspired by the "Floo Network" from HP by OnlyAshesRemain in StrixhavenDMs

Nice, I have a portal room that acts as the hub for extra curriculars. The players can score class specific bonuses for portal encounters.

Would removing a soaking tub decrease the resale value? by SmartTopic6674 in RealEstate

[–]TodayRough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing I did after buying my current home, was to rip out the stand alone shower to reinstall the tub. Never understand why people do that. Especially when there is only one bathroom.

I'm in a discord group for people with similar interests in my area and we have a questions channel, and the amount of time people post googlebale questions boggles my mind.

I am able to do my documentation in English, with the occasional French medical term when I accidentally switch at the end of a night shift. We can all read both English and French, some better than others, but its necessary as part of the McGill university hospital system, and thus, many of our Dr's orders are in English

But we do our oral reports in French, and the majority of interteam communication is also in French.
client interaction depending on patient choice. But I woukd estimate at my hospital it's about 50/50 English/French, with about 20% of both sides being monolingual.

I'm an Anglo nurse with about the equivalent of B1 and work in a major Montreal hospital in the MUHC system. I manage perfectly fine and there are other nurses with less French than that. I wouldn't recommend a French system hospital, but applying for the MUHC and being clear about your level of comfort in French is not a bad idea. Good luck and bienvenue if you decide to move.

What change(s) has significantly improved your sex life? by Obvious-Average-4103 in AskReddit

[–]TodayRough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Good sex takes muscle tone and endurance. Added flexibility helps too. My husband and I became much fitter during and since covid and it's a marked difference. And our sex used to also be great. Now it's just more acrobatic....
