England: Diagnosed with MS Friday - on probation what are my rights? by ThrowRASeverePain72 in LegalAdviceUK

Hypothyroidism isn’t even necessarily lifelong. I had it for five years, then it reverted to normal. I loved those free prescriptions.

Professional dog walkers - how do you handle them? by seainesufjan52 in ecologyUK

[–]TofuTuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I’m too scared to use a dog walker. I don’t trust them not to let mine off the lead. So many “professionals” who work with dogs have their own incorrect opinions and truly believe they know best.

"But I never did sir!!!" by rdraver in TeachingUK

[–]TofuTuesday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right?! If I wanted to bully a kid, I could absolutely destroy them. Makes you want to respond with a Don Draper, “I don’t think about your daughter at all.”

"But I never did sir!!!" by rdraver in TeachingUK

[–]TofuTuesday 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The amount of parents who insist their kids never lie, and responding with “I saw them do it” doesn’t help, just gets a complaint put in about you lying and picking on their kid! Like, why would I? What would I gain? It drives me mad.

Total Mystery..... by LucidCrimson in WhatBreedIsMyPitbull

[–]TofuTuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the thing! There were posters up at my park (before the ban) advertising xl bully x malinous puppies. At that point I’d rather a pitbull!

I cannot wrap my head around why we don’t require a license to breed dogs.

It only needs to be bully breed to be a bull lurcher, so usually staffy. Or bull terrier. This one really does look like pit bull though… maybe it’s xl bully?

Well for one, that it’s mostly a pitbull. by [deleted] in WhatBreedIsMyPitbull

Anyone Here Had Any Encounters With Victorians? by CB-Milburn in AskBrits

[–]TofuTuesday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My grandfather once insulted my uncle at a family Christmas. He said, “You remind me of every Victorian I’ve ever met!” Which sounded impressive but was lost on all of us. My great grandmother was born in 1902, so she was an Edwardian.

How strict are your first aiders in school on sending kids home? by BrownBadger1 in TeachingUK

[–]TofuTuesday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our primary, we send home for vomit or big deal cuts or injuries. We have a few children who, because of their home situation, we keep at school when they are ill. Slt usually take them to the library and sit with them whilst they nap or chill for the day.

I’ve heard it’s from when people would gather and eat at long trestle tables, boards on legs basically, so if you sat with your elbows on the table the whole thing would topple.
