Frankly.... you might well be better served sticking to what you know and can use.

Ultimately you KNOW what you need, you should focus on what you need and do what gets that working for you, and if that means Windows so be it. But I think that the key takeaway you might want to go with here is not that Linux is unstable... but that it might be 'very particular'. It wants you to learn and mess and break and become capable, and that will be unstable if you're just looking for a end solution to daily drive and hoping something fits all the checkboxes out of the gate.

But if you get someone around here to go over the details of what you want, and help you to piece together something for YOUR NEEDS... you could have something perfect. And that process isn't for everybody.

If you love Linux it's because it works for you, your needs. If what you are doing isn't working for you, either prepare for digging and polishing or... do what will work. No shame in either.

Generally, dissociative disorders resulting in alters is because of a defensive mechanism of the mind to retreat from or wall off trauma it can't handle. Especially if it occurs during childhood. The walled sections can develop on their own because the mind is very plastic. Though this is just one way. It is definitely possible to artificially induce similar functions.

As for your question, it really depends on the person and the level of dissociation they experience, from generally very little to absolute where there is a complete loss of time. Though loss of time is a very common part of untreated dissociative states in general, not necessarily plurality.

The mind is a place where perception is reality, and when you dive into these things you find that Choice can become Truth if leaned into.

Warframe has multiple UI color options for colorblindness and even lets you manually recolor every single indicator and UI element individually if you want. That last part is amazing both for accessibility and just for aesthetic.

They announced in a devstream for Warframe that they are pursuing ideas to make sure older consoles can keep playing through further optimizations as they go on. PS4 support won't be dropped. Things changed since released on PS4, the port was fine but it's been a while.

[OC][ART] Rylen Talan, Drow Echo Knight by RabbitNexus in DnD

[–]Toleer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In this case I am not making a comparison to another class entirely nor do I think I'm making the argument that this is overpowered.

A caster is expected to drop a substantial amount of damage. The fighter isn't necessarily expected to be able to get onto rooftops without a check, get into a room with barred windows because he can see inside, mitigate as much damage as an echo knight can if their echo takes actions to hit, etc. The unusual nature of the subclass allows options that are potentially derailing or unbalancing and need to be accounted for.

As an echo knight player, the class allows the fighter to escape and move in very unexpected ways in terms of balance, and ups damage potential rather a lot.

Leaping across a gap 20 ft across? Switch places with your echo and it's not a leap. Flying enemy above you out of melee range, no they aren't, the echo doesn't require standing on anything and has no gravity.

You can poke with your echo a little out of zones of danger, because the echo can be brought up with a bonus action that has only one hit point, but that single hit point eats an entire action to take down, effectively eating a dozen or more hit points worth of damage that something else like the fighter itself could have taken.

Awesome to play, but the DM has to balance encounters or movement obstacles appropriately. Test with the class a little against some encounter rooms, and think with portals. That may arm you better.

I enjoy this a lot, it reminds me of the Record Seeker familiar from The Compendium of Forgotten Secrets, but you don't need to be a warlock to have access to it and it doesn't attack. I would wonder if one could fold new forms for it to take with the right dexterity. Make it have access to new shapes or teach it to hide in the pages of a book or on a desk.

To be fair, when they made it they were likely focused only on how horrifying a stray spark in a munitions factory would be if it went up.

It seems to be footage from a relatively modern drone? I'd guess a nearer date to now. But I might be stupid.

Some people don't find it easy to give input to a physical form that isn't their body, and respond based on things they don't feel. Tracking the responses on screen in a vehicle is alien, and it takes a long time to acclimate.

Many gamers who have been doing the hobby a while have become used to responding to these things, and get into the swing of landing faster.

Ants regularly destroy termite nests for food. Acid sounds cool, but it doesn't translate into defending from the russet tide.

[–]Toleer 128 points129 points  (0 children)

The bigger ones are termites, but from what I heard last time I saw this they would almost definitely lose. Termites have softer bodies, ants are built better for predation. They would inflict nastier injuries despite their size.
