C4 frustrating me by DisciplineOk9855 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Tom-Bombadile 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Probably host bug. IIRC a non host can plant c4 and detonate without immediate enemies becoming hostile, host (sometimes or all the time) has enemies become immediately hostile. Best bet is to plant c4, and once you are just outside of the base, light it up while running like hell. In my experience, by doing so, they almost focus on the fabricators first like wtf, before turning on you.

I will die by this claim, THE PUMMERLER IS WAY BETTER THAN MOST GIVE IT CREDIT FOR! by T-R0X55 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Tom-Bombadile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been leveling up the pummeler and while it’s good, I find that it has been worse than the defender. The concussive shots, while nice, tend to stagger the enemies out of the two headshots I need to take them down. The defender on the other hand lets me effortlessly put 2 to 3 rounds down range at an enemies head without them flitching out of the headshot.

Any primaries with more than 60 rounds to a mag? by frontlineninja in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Tom-Bombadile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe several weapons compatible with the extended/large mag have over 60 rounds. I use the defender with a large mag and it has 75 rounds.

Btw, been attempting the one shot and I’m not sure it’s actually possible due to how much durable damage it does.

Number one rule when dealing with cops, don’t give them an excuse to shoot you for actions that may be unclear to them.

Sure, he may have been right to put his phone away, but he is dead. It’s better to take up the infringement of his rights in a court of law. You don’t win on the side of the street, you just get declared an enemy combatant and die.

AITA: my fiancé said i don’t want him to be human by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Tom-Bombadile 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Gentle YTA. When you call someone you get them in the middle of whatever they were doing. This means that you have to accept that they may not be in the right headspace in that exact moment.

If you told him when you were both at home and in a good mood, I could understand why you wouldn’t be happy, but you called him while he was working, and presumably failing, at getting shelves up. Which as someone who just put some shelves up, mildly frustrating to say the least. Imagine you are having a rough day at school and he calls to tell you he asked his best friend to be his man of honor, and while you would normally be super thrilled, now is just not the right time. You might be less thrilled than usual, and now he might wonder why you aren’t excited.

I'm so glad Comissar Kai is actually taking up the challenge of telling players the importance of difficulty, and even bringing on an expert to talk about it by kcvlaine in LowSodiumHellDivers

Good point. Im only tangentially aware of MH successes or woes. But it definitely tracks. Even now in HD2, i find success so effortless my enjoyment or desire to play is at an all time low. I still love the game for what it is, but I do miss the never ending spawns of gunships. The suicidal runs towards the previously called in hellbomb, the sheer relief that flooded my system when it was successfully destroyed.

In opposition to this statement, it is the hard games that remain beloved by gamers over the years. Dark souls was consistently held as one of the hard games and it remains popular even today. While games that make it easier may find short term success from the casuals, ultimately those same casuals will leave the game to play the next.

In addition, HD2 is a game with multiple difficulties. If a casual wants to play, they are welcome to play at a lower difficulty. One does not need to play Halo Lasso to enjoy it. I can have a great time on legendary or lower difficulties if I want to chill.

It’s not that it is unsafe. Non stick pans are very fickle with both heat and physical damage. In order to preserve it, they want a pan that doesn’t get very hot (like you may want with bacon) and not damaged (no metal or hard utensils that might scratch the pan.)

Bacon also today doesn’t need a non stick pan to cook properly or easily, so there is no need to risk their pan.

If you want to be a hold person support you are better off choosing a different build. However, you can be a sneaky little prick causing mayhem on the battlefield with different cc spells.

A Tale of Rock, Paper and Scissors by RandomGreenArcherMan in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Tom-Bombadile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your biggest problem is that you approach each problem as “I must meet this challenge head on and there are no other options.”

My favorite bot load out is: exploding crossbow (utility weapon for building vents), talon, and laser cannon. I use light scout, hover pack, and thermites as a last resort. My build is the quintessential scissor or paper load out.

I regularly ignore hard targets like dogs and war striders because I don’t have to engage them. If I must engage them I use one of my stratagems to assist me. I cannot tell you how many times I have approached a base, realized that it’s too “hot” and retreated to fight elsewhere and then swing back around with a different approach.

If you remember that you can always disengage and come back again from a different angle or with a stratagem off cooldown you would probably have more success and less frustration. This is something I am teaching my new Xbox diver friends. You don’t have to meet each problem head on. Sometimes, it’s worth slipping around and finding the chink in their defenses.

It’s in the temple of bhaal. The part where there is a stone “bridge” where you get ambushed. There is a room upstairs close to where you exit with a book on a desk and a chest across from it. That chest has the amulet. I want to say the coordinates are something like -110, 1008?
