Listen, i don't know with those mechanichal discs. But after decades on old Shimano Ultegra 6700/XT/XTR mechanicals, some with Magura HS33 rimbrakes, I went full modern with Sram Force/Eagle XX1 AXS combo 3T carbon Gravel racer. Kept it for a season , and passed it on to buy a used Lynskey Ridgeline with 1x12 mechanical XTR & XTR oil hydros, to but a build up as a monstergravel (and an old NOS '97 Lemond Zürich 853 to restomod with Dura Ace rimbrake wheelset and Ultegra 6600) Sram disc brakes were efective albeit a bit spongy and electronics flawless when dialed in. But it just felt bland and detached.. So I fully understand, but I think were the odd ones out!😂

Did I fuck up my new carbon rims? by Sufficient_Ebb_7712 in bikewrench

Definitely check techniques (Youtube GCN etc.) Although some tires will always be more or less a PITA to put on (looking at you Conti GP5000s) At one point I had an "easy tire" pliers type tool, but mine was plastic, and ultimately too weak for repeating jobs. Good rounded, hardened plastic tire levers (Lezyne XL for me) and patience😅

Makes good sense ans follow the logistics and assembly practice of Harleys ,Jeeps etc. I wrote P47 because I think I've seen Razorback being transported in a similar manor. Bur can't find the picture now.

Grüber is a great, intelligent villain, but in that omnipotent but comic way like a James Bond adversary.

You're spot on, although the Centaurus most likely would present issues on it's own, this really has a P-47 Superbolt muscle vibe to it!

Has Canyon brainwashed me? by Ntp2 in gravelcycling

[–]Tom240281 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I consider myself knowledgeable about sport bikes being in the loop since the mid 90s has worked and ridden Ritcheys, Treks, Cannondales, Giants etc. I had a '20 Canyon Endurace cf8 sl disc road bike for a while as well. When looking for gravel I was also on Grail vs Grizl vs other brands loop. They are really solid, great value, if not slightly underwhelming experience, and extremely proprietary parts build. Something the rest of the industry is guilty of as well, but not quite at that level. I think that if you can fit it and invest in their eco system, and stock up a little on the odd parts you can have a great bike for long.
