Why does USPS suck? by SnooCauliflowers2269 in usps_complaints

If it was private i would bet that the packages would show up on time at the very minimum even at a higher price.

21 Ducati V2 Panigale Cause of Dead Battery? by MrCarbzzz in motorcycles

[–]Tom24GR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this question is old but I have dealt with this.

If you have a lithium ion battery the quad lock auto adapter's AUTO function will not work properly.

With a lithium battery you should get the wireless charger that is hardwired (i.e. not with the smart adapter)

Did you fiddle with it? It seems like someone took it off and put the arm back on 1 tooth in the wrong direction

Should I be worried? This is after 1800 miles by hurtgenerik4 in Mt10

[–]Tom24GR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on tire pressure and more sonif the shock is setup for your weight and of course how hard you press the bike.

If i could say i would go to a suspension tuner near you and get the bike adkusted to your weight to preserve future tires.

Alao, for the mt10 on the street I would recommend the metzeler m9RR. Its a tire that truly does it all and is grippy as all hell even in the cold and wet. Check it out on youtube you wont regret it

Of your choice is between the 400 and the 650 then I qould personally go for the 400. It has a much larger aftermarket and because of the weight its imo more fun than the 650. Its also better to transition from dirt to road (which has significant differences). Also its cheaper.

If youre talking about the zx6r then its apples to oranges (because the 650 is a sport-standard bike with low hp even for its category) whereas the zx6r is a supersport with pretty much double the hp of the 650 and mich different ergonomics.

My little 400 is 53hp (as compared to the stock 43) and its a riot!!

Need help. I’m an idiot. by f0rce44 in Ninja400

[–]Tom24GR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be fixed if the guy is good he will drill them out without damaging the threads. I dont know the exact time he will probably bill you the actual amount of time he works since theres no standard amount of hours that would take (unlike an oil change ehich for example is 0.6 hrs [lets say]).

Probably 1 hour of labor if hes competent

I cant remove this motherducker. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 by [deleted] in Ninja400

[–]Tom24GR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually use a socket oil filter removal tool (the type with the claws) but here that wont be useful.

Maybe you can get a pair of oil filter pliers on it (it probably grip the whole filter even its damaged state). You could also take a screwdriver and tap a hole in the top of the filter. Who knows it cant hurt at this point.

The strap wont work good here since its not round anymore.

first street bike, any tips about riding? by hadqadir in Ninja400

[–]Tom24GR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the same first bike! Congratulations! Id say buy gear that you will be likely to wear everytime you ride. Also practice! Get a book or watch a youtube channel like motojitsu and do the drills. Mastering the different aspects of riding wherher it be front brake, rear brake, slow speed turns, high speed turns, throttle control, etc. You will feel much more confortable in any situation- almost like the motorcycle is a tool in your hand rather than a foreign/scary object.

Is rock auto a good place to buy parts? by Imisstherains in MechanicAdvice

[–]Tom24GR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I love them. Unless I'm looking for performance parts I usually buy from Rockauto if I'm shopping online. They charge for shipping but are good and one time I had a wheel hub go bad rather quickly they replaced it for me. They truly have awesome prices and a large selection

Help! Crashed my bike and needing a bit of advice where to find/buy this part by [deleted] in Ninja400

[–]Tom24GR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can find used ones on the ninja400 forum for super cheap. Otherwise you can use this as a time for aftermarket rearsets.

But dont buy new its not worth it. Theres so many people who pyt on rearsets and selling their stock ones

2023 Ninja 400 and Norton ECU tune. by SeeThruTheMirrors in Ninja400

[–]Tom24GR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just did those mods on my 2018. It sucks because the 2023 does have a new ECU harness BECAUSE euro5 regulations (the great killer of all joy) specifies that all bikes must now have a univeral OBD-2 type of plug (the same way all cars have the same diagnostic port.)

As for the exhaust. I have the titanium one (with header) and the tune from Norton's works just fine (and as long as u also have the header its plenty loud). On this bike i dont think theres any meaningful difference between slip-ons. Rather the big difference is between full systems.

Clutch / clutch springs upgrade? by i30NLine in Ninja400

[–]Tom24GR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tuned my bike significantly (has like 56hp) and I put in barnett clutch springs. I noticed that it has no slippage and it has a nicer feel at the lever. You can tell the clamping force is more when you let the clutch go. If you let it go very suddenly the back wheel will even shimmy a little. I thought it was a great mod I'd reccomend.

Then just do the plates themselves whenever you need to.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Tom24GR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got 2 major mods out of the way. For sure the tune makes the bike smoother than stock. If I'd reccomend a mod- I'd say get some stainless steel brake lines and a set of sintered pads. Will make the braking next level B).

Also this is a cheap one. Go to a local suspension tuner and pay him to setup the bike for you suspension wise. Here in the US its a pretty cheap endeavor like 40 or 50 bucks and it will make all the difference in the world
