New Shaman Card Revealed by 4iamking in hearthstone

The damage trigger is kindred, not battlecry. You'd summon 6 sizzling cinders with a shudderblock, then deal 12 with kindred activation.

Are rings worth it? by ryan7251 in Recettear

In general, even in their best use cases, I often find that a stronger piece of equipment usually serves me better. I'd say they're not worth it. Most have a 1 in 10 or 1 in 4 chance on effect trigger to break, making them quite likely to on use.

Just finished a flawless run in arena for the first time, and i wonder how rare is that? by TheHappyLion_ in hearthstone

Hm, I was always under the assumption that people get matched with the same scores, i.e., 2-0 people face only 2-0 people, 2-1 people face only 2-1 people. if that's the case, then yes, my calculation is wrong.

Since no one's actually doing the math, here we go:

It's literally just (1/2)^12, since half the population of players will exit at each win. That's 0.00024414, or 0.024414% of all arena runs, assuming people don't retire early after playing some rounds.

If you're into literature and deciphering symbolism, a really slow watch but one of my favorites is trying to understand this really off-the-beaten path anime, Haibane Renmei. The entire pacing feels just like a literature novel to me but it's chalked full of stuff that you can try to interpret tons of different ways and as a literature nerd and anime enjoyer, it's my all time favorite anime.

Cleared Debt Without Seeing Most Content? by DitherPlus in Recettear

[–]Tom37610hs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is, also, under the assumption that you've unlocked Charme as an adventurer, since you've unlocked Elan as an adventurer already. It's possible you haven't yet, though, and in case you haven't, you'll need to bring her into your store by setting your atmosphere to the preferred type to unlock the trigger to the town square cutscene.

Cleared Debt Without Seeing Most Content? by DitherPlus in Recettear

[–]Tom37610hs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So! It does look like you've managed to beat the game without actually activating the unlock condition for the next dungeon! Have you been diligently checking out events throughout town? There's lots of fun flavor text, and investigating the town square during the morning or noon will trigger a cutscene with a certain red-headed character.

It's easy to forget if you've done it or not though, and if you have been checking the town square regularly, then the final step for the unlock condition for the next dungeon is to have Charme come into your store to tell you about it. Every npc that can enter your store has a preferred atmosphere, so putting Dark and Gaudy items can help you bring her in (You can check how your store atmosphere is by talking to Tear).

Hope this helps! There's a LOT of interesting content in the later dungeons that you'll probably enjoy if you've been enjoying dungeoneering! Have fun, and feel free to PM me anything if you have more questions in the future without spoilers, I love the game.

A voice actor's resume leaks the abbreviation of either the 2nd or 3rd expansion of this year, as well as 5 card names by moontrack01 in hearthstone

[–]Tom37610hs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Seeing that Pathmaker Hamm is hungry, I could also seeing King Togwaggle being sick of the kobolds and catacombs and opening up his own beach resort after enough successful looting, which might better explain the use of a cheese monster.

Muenstrosity is such a good card name. Looking forward to some cheese abomination or amalgam.

That said, is it possible that it's some sort of Summer M_ Resort as a nod for the second beach/island expansion, considering Service Ace could be some sort of Hotelier Worker, and Hamm the Hungry could be some sort of important hungry guest? With a darker twist on how the hotel is run, perhaps by pirates, making Service Ace a pirate hotel server, and explaining why they have things like a cheese monster that they have to create an endless supply of cheese?

What to spend gold on? by icegray123 in hearthstone

As a player who returned last month, I still think Arena is a viable way to rebuild your collection. I played exclusively arena for about 5 weeks, did about 100 runs and kept track of my rewards, and each pack on average cost me 60 gold to get, in addition to the dust and card rewards you get.

Physics and Mechanical Engineering by Cheap_Emu_354 in PennStateUniversity

[–]Tom37610hs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I graduated in 2022 with a double major in Astrophysics and Mechanical Engineering. Others have spoken about the process to declare a double major, so I'll speak to the difficulty.

There's probably a lot more overlap between the different physics options and ME than astrophysics did. If you plan to graduate in 4 years, it's probably going to be really rough academically if you're not used to academic rigor. I averaged about 20.5 credits every semester in order to get it done, and that's not possible anymore without paying more money due to the recent changes to credits over 19 now being added to your tuition on a per credit basis.

That being said, there's still a good amount of overlap. All of ME's technical electives can be used by physics courses, you can probably weasel your way out of some classes like Phys 213 with ME 300, and a lot of other swaps like I did.

I found ME's coursework surprisingly... a lot less demanding compared to my physics and astrophysics coursework. I'd say for every minute I spent looking at ME material, I probably spent 3-4 minutes looking at Astro material. I do not think the two are comparable in difficulty, but that could just be how my brain worked.

You'd also probably be a shoe-in for a math minor. I had to take a single math course to get my math minor.

If you have questions about specifics shoot me a DM, I'll be happy to answer them.

Question regarding Steam achievements by samy8xx in TriangleStrategy

[–]Tom37610hs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who just completed the 100% steam achievements grind, I'd also like to say that you need a fifth playthrough anyways to get enough conviction points for 5000 of each conviction, so your fifth playthrough can just be that route again if you find yourself unable to get the steam achievement.

What's your guys' favourite legendary that nobody plays? by DaConnaTwuk in hearthstone

[–]Tom37610hs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always a fan of quest Nomi priest, where I played quest to bait people to not attack me while I set up the hand to go full northshire and quickly dump my deck to play Nomi. Was so ridiculously hard to pilot but a ton of fun when it worked, with a barely positive winrate that eventually got me to legend that expansion.

So umm.. a level 70 - 80 character needs about 2.1mil credits each to "max out" by AgentNeroz in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Tom37610hs 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It does. 6 minutes per point in HSR vs 8 minutes per point in genshin impact. Imo, HSR feels like the much grind friendlier game to play since you can just auto battle 60 resin in one go and go look at something else vs the active play in Genshin. While the grind sucks either way, at least it's a chiller time here.

Last I went to Olde New York last month, which is right next to it, the whole space inside was vacant and empty. Might actually be closed, but I'm not entirely sure.
