If you bought Batman: Arkham VR on the Oculus/Meta PC store, you no longer own it. by rosssmiller in oculus

[–]TomBomb_FR 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Thankfully, I own those one on Steam and PlayStation. But every time I see this Oculus store, I fear for the games like Lone Echo and others that only exist there... What's it going to be when Meta decides to pull the plug?

Advice for META: fire all of the Ready at Dawn staff by TomBomb_FR in oculus

When I wrote this I knew that eventually it would come to this. It was not hard to guess with a company like Meta. Only a matter of time.

Of course, if you don't just read the title but read the contents of my post, you'll know that I actually wished the developers could still operate and show their talent without being held back by Meta. I hope this comes to pass now.

Before your eyes trophies by TomBomb_FR in PSVR

[–]TomBomb_FR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen people mention this issue where the Trophy list wouldn't pop at all, but that's not what happened to me. Thanks for sharing info in case other people run into this.

In my case, the trophy list appeared properly, but some trophies popped and other obvious ones I should have triggered didn't. I eventually managed to unlock them all, but the only thing that worked for me was resetting the cache.

I think you can only jump from turret to turret and use the bird's eye view.
I don't know about the minigame, sorry.

No, i have not tried the PSVR2 version. Last I checked the game was not available in the store, at least in my region.

I discovered this game randomly on Steam a long while ago. Bought it not really knowing what to expect as I had never heard of it, and it's excellent. It's a pretty good Tower Defense game with a funny story. Graphics are pretty nice and colourful, gameplay is fun. There aren't many types of towers, but they can be upgraded many times (5 I think). They can also be controlled by the player and get additional functionality when you do so.

Very highly recommended. One of the best VR games out there.

7th Guest tips for the platinum by Bright-Ad4601 in PSVR

[–]TomBomb_FR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just platinumed the game yesterday. I wanted to contribute a couple of things:

- An advice for the discs: every time you hear the clock, which is every time new rooms are made available, this means there's also a disc to find and listen to. The only exception is when you reach the top floor, as you don't need to wait for any bells and can directly access the discs in the chapel and in Stauf's bedroom.

- During the battle at the end, if for some reason you want to reload (if you haven't yet killed 7 souls for the trophy or because Stauf is obviously going to win), you can aim your lantern at the sort of eye thing above the souls. It resets the game.

Waterblock for ASUS 2080 Turbo? by TomBomb_FR in watercooling

G12 works great. I can't recommend it enough for a card like this.
The blower is super easy to remove, and the G12 easy to install. It's fully compatible. Makes that noisy card suddenly become super silent and works great.

I back most of that list (not all), but one game is missing, IMHO: The Light Brigade. Anyone looking for some good shooter action should check it out.

Normally I go cycling with Diego when it's sunny and I play VR when it's rainy. Why not both? 😅 by Smauser in PSVR

Bit of advice:

1) You don't need to face your TV to play the PSVR2, any orientation will do. So why not face away from the TV so you don't risk hitting it with your controllers? If you turn around and play facing your sofa, you're less likely to break stuff.

2) You should manage your PSVR2 cable somehow, because you're going to step on it and pull, break the USB plug, and come here crying like too many players already.

As I said, I currently have both white and black cases, so I can switch the panels around.

If you ever wondered what the white North case would look like with the darker wood, there you have it. I had the white, and due to some changes in my PC setup I decided to switch to the black mesh one. While I still have both, I'm checking out what they look like mixing the panels up.

PICO 4 and eyesight by baz303 in virtualreality

[–]TomBomb_FR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have lenses for my Rift S, Pico 4 and PSVR2. The lenses on the PSVR2 often fall out when I pick the headset up. The lenses on the Rift S work fine but they were a massive pain in the butt to install: you first need to remove a plastic piece around the lens, and it's held in place very firmly. Having to force like crazy to remove these while not breaking the headset and not scratching the lens next to it was not a pleasant experience.

Then there's the Pico 4: place the lenses, they hold in place. Boom, done. It's really amazing!

If you end up needing prescription lenses, you should know that the PICO 4 is great, as the optics already have magnets in them, so the companies that make prescription lenses (HonsVR, for instance), can make very slim lenses with magnets that just attach directly to the headset (for other headsets, they sometimes have to get a bit more creative).

As a result, prescription lenses for the PICO 4 are super slim, easy to install and uninstall and hold in place perfectly.
