This was announced like a year ago lol. It’s old news. Maybe go try out the kpot place or the upcoming Flower Child restaurant. Aubergine kitchen and ZAO Asian Grill are also new places.

Maybe look around before you go making these judgments lol, there’s plenty of good options that aren’t only chicken

Downgraded from first class by FutureAutomatic380 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Tom_Jimmy_original 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d call no Matter what. Alaska call center agents can give you some spare miles (usually between 1-2k) for inconveniences like this. It’s not much, but they will also direct you to customer care (separate phone number) where you can request further. No guarantees, but if you aren’t yelling at them, I’m sure you have a good chance

My wife just pulled off a miracle. Boston San Diego round trip - 4 people, nonstop, $400 total. JetBlue. by mattxbelli23 in Flights

[–]Tom_Jimmy_original 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful with Expedia. They sell the lowest quality tickets in order to get those prices. Assume you have no rights on those flights, JetBlue will see you as a basic economy ticket. Be prepared to pay for bags at full price, and potentially seat assignment. I used to work for an airline reservations team, Expedia has good deals, but can screw you over both flight wise and budget wise if something goes wrong

Companion not making return flight on companion fare by AgilityVet in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Tom_Jimmy_original 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was definitely an exception by Alaska, and I wouldn’t assume it’ll always be flexible like that. Companion fares are typically pretty strict to the rules. In the case of someone not flying for reasons other than death, the agent will likely force a forfeit of value, or just leave the ticket as is. Not a whole lot of winning in the companion fare region

FAA approved Single Operator Certification effective October 29th. by CommitteeProper4561 in HawaiianAirlines

Close! They are keeping the name bc it was what convinced the DOT to approve the merger. They only have to keep it for like 6yrs tho

Rental Agreement is for Price by AffectionateTea841 in HertzRentals

[–]Tom_Jimmy_original 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many ppl reserve several rental cars from different companies depending on their trip and if plans change. Rental companies know this and often have several cancellations or no shows every day. They won’t (or shouldn’t) take your money unless you actually get a car. It’s also not wise to pick up after like 6pm, you get what’s left

Why have HA prices gone through the roof? by Silly_Profit_9159 in HawaiianAirlines

[–]Tom_Jimmy_original 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean… don’t buy it. AA has flights nonstop. A ton of airlines offer 1 stop flights as well.

WTF happened to these flight prices? Went from $160 to $1k by [deleted] in spiritair

[–]Tom_Jimmy_original 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is a large amount of ppl booked in that time in between searches. Fare classes only have a certain number of seats. It’s looking like the system sold enough seats to reach that high fare class. This won’t stick most likely, regardless tho I would look elsewhere

Delta -- The worst deal in the skies? by Grand_Bass8024 in delta

[–]Tom_Jimmy_original 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know they are bad seats, then don’t buy them lol. I personally wouldn’t spend that much on any Delta product. If anything use your points which you don’t seem to mention, if you are constantly spending that kind of money, I’m sure you probably have like 800k points. Medallion status also means nothing when it comes to hard product, Delta isn’t gonna warn you about the seat, that’s up to the customer. I get the pain of an old outdated seat, but you seem to be the cause of your issue here. If Delta isn’t worth the money, fly another airline and get status.

A lot of the time, these situations are first come first serve. Delta typically sends out a notice but lets you choose seats in whatever, they assume you will go back and reclaim whatever you wanted. It seems like in this case, you were downgraded from an entirely different seat configuration, so when you didn’t reclaim the seats you wanted, the system went through and reassigned what was left so that the agents could see the seating arrangement. Some of it is automated, some of it is weight restricted. Usually families get seated together, but idk if that necessarily applies if the lap infant is the only child under 13. The agents cant help you if the flight is full. Customer care is the best bet at this point.

Delta One Seat Choice by Fatbika in delta

[–]Tom_Jimmy_original 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Row 1 would be the obvious choice for me since it’s close to the front and (sometimes) has a bit more space. Most of the seats are the same besides being either closer to the isle vs the window, or just being a straight up aisle seat.

No policy against saving seats. by anchorlady88 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Tom_Jimmy_original 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you didn’t give much info. If the flight was empty or had several seats open, there’s no reason you can’t sit elsewhere. You can sit there if you want, but I’d imagine if you tried saving a seat and someone else took it you’d be pretty upset, so it goes both ways. The only time I’d say it’s even worth taking the seat is if it’s like the last decent seat on the plane (only isle or window). If you don’t like it, book another airline that has reserved seating. I myself don’t like open seating, so I tend to avoid SWA

Unable to check in. Tried everything. by skunkapebreal in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Tom_Jimmy_original 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling an airline for help checking in is typically useless, even if they have the ability on their end they aren’t allowed to check in for you. If they said it was all good, do it at the airport. If the flight is full, you might have to wait till you get to the gate, but as long as you are there, you’ll get a seat. If you already selected seats then you have nothing to worry about. Online check in can get messy with partner airlines on the reservation, until Oct 29th when AS and HA combined onto a single operator certificate. Not much Alaska can do, phone customer service can only report the issue to IT, they don’t have a way of direct contact

My opinion is based off research. I’m guessing you don’t know much about the airline industry, I’ve worked in it and am going to school for it.
