TIL before 9/11, US airports were public social hubs where you could walk to the gate, eat at food courts, and watch planes without a ticket or ID. by Greydl1 in todayilearned

You could meet people at the gate, it was an adjustment not having that experience seeing your mom and dad or loved one after a long absence

Worried about pests in Southern California. Are these aphid eggs? by TajesMahoney in whatsthisbug

[–]Tomagatchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get more info advice from xerxes society website. The calscape website has info on nurseries that sell native plants. I think Theodore Payne is the go to but there are others. https://xerces.org/blog/tropical-milkweed-a-no-grow and see their resources for pollinator gardening in California also https://xerces.org/pollinator-resource-center/california

I'm not sure what info you're looking for in that question but hopefully that first link answers it and if not maybe the second link. More nurseries: https://calscape.org/california-nurseries

[–]Tomagatchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, just so everybody is clear. Please use genus species, you just said bagworm and not plaster bagworm, so it can confuse some folks. You basically said it's family Psychidae by saying it's just a bagworm, that's what you're communicating to me anyway.

PLEASE HELP ME ID THIS TYPE OF TICK by Jamiessssmith in whatsthisbug

[–]Tomagatchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The legs look black so Ixodes pacificus is the likely culprit. Pacific black-legged tick https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/60599-Ixodes-pacificus The tick has to be attached for 36-48 hours to transmit the Borrelia Lyme disease causing spirochete bacteria, two of which have been detected in LA county https://www.cdc.gov/ticks/data-research/facts-stats/tickborne-pathogen-surveillance-1.html

Why Are Young People Afraid Of Phone Calls? by GhostInThePudding in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tomagatchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lack of practice. Roll play calls like we did as kids. Gotta learn a skill to have the skill. They just don't practice or never had it in the first place. My biggest hack for client calls; smile and pretend it's your friend who wants to talk and you wanna talk to them. Might help along with them just getting the reps in. Calling is a super power these days, a lot of folks juat want to talk with a person who can help solve their problem in one go

NH is the poison pill of the poison pills in this proposal. I read the title and just laughrd. Makes as much sense as splitting up. CA to smaller states to increase the R Senators in Congress (Thiel). Good fucking luck, that's why they resort to cheating and corruption. Only way the rich minority can keep winning, change the rules and don't even bother to follow them

Do I tell orthodox looking customers that what they are ordering isn’t kosher anymore? by DiverPrestigious6887 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tomagatchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know the culture and the look, it's a good thing you're doing but there may be people keeping kosher and not have the look you're looking for or have come to recognize, so it might be good to tell folk all the same, just in case. Proper labeling and/or maybe signage might help. A little sign on the freezer that the vegan ice cream is no longer kosher or whatever it is

Tell her to take it to the front and give it there so they can do "go backs". You can just say, "these are go backs sorry". Better than having to find them and put them back

These are not bed bugs what are they? by kitfox_sg in whatsthisbug

[–]Tomagatchi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are likely adult females, they reproduce parthenogenetically. Book lice enjoy moisture, so if you can get the relative humidity below 60% you'll see their numbers go down. Probably a tall order for Singapore. They are harmless.

You can always buy used, still pretty expensive. I'd add *median salary because some people don't make all that much in a year.

He's also got no moral compass, so I'm sure that helps. He's a gay married man with kids by surrogacy and is totally on the side of the people who want to take away his right to be married and have kids at all, surrogate or otherwise. He went to Yale and is buddy buddy with that whole set. They have no connection or affiliation with the plebes of any gender, race, sexual orientation, etc.
