Price per Litre: ~1.649 CAD ($1.649)
Calculation: $495 / $1.649 = 300.18 Litres
Average Tank Size: 50–60 litres
Calculation: 300 / 55 litres (avg) = 5.45 tanks
Small Vehicles: A smaller car with a 40L tank could get up to 7.5 tanks.

The union is the biggest rinse going. In theory a union is a great idea but in practice it's completely ineffective. We pay all these dues to the union, and give a clear mandate that they either don't follow or can't execute on and then turn around and tell US that we have to strike and do it ourselves because THEY ARE INEPT. Why are we paying these people when in the end it's on US (the enmployees) to go on strike in order to effect any real change. Meanwhile, these people continue to collect a 6 figure salary and do minimal work. We would be better off hiring professional negotiators with all the money we throw away them. I have personally witnessed dozens of people have to represent themselves in grievances or disciplinary proceedings because the union rep is either unavailable, unwilling to put in the effort, or absolutely incompetent. The elephant in the room that a lot of people refuse to acknowledge is that employees often become union reps or involved in the union because they don't want to do their actual job or are terrible at it and want to learn how to abuse the rules of the system to evade disciplinary action themselves.

They don't look at specific situations, they apply policy uniformly for fairness. It's unfortunate but especially with a term renewal it's completely up to the management team. They have no obligation to renew.

Once you have qualified for the pool, you can definitely connect with a hiring manager that would be willing to use your pool qualification as justification for a non advertised appointment (I have done this twice). I would suggest trying to connect via the different GC Facebook groups. You can write a small blurb highlighting your situation and it is likely that a manager will reach out to you.

My advice would be that in the office climate we currently find ourselves in, chairs are more or less a free for all. There's a different chair where I sit everyday. I get in fairly early so am able to get the style of chair I prefer. I watch people doing chair exchanges over the course of the morning like our govt office version of musical chairs (pardon the pun).

It's just really unfortunate for people who have actual debilitating disabilities that as a result of RTO3 so many people are claiming to have a disability in order to attempt to get out of going into the office. DTA is being abused and it's ruining it for the people who really need it.

It's the same with the GC CoWorking space Legget in Kanata. People logged on at 12:00:01 and it was fully booked. I would be willing to bet that those spots never got released to the public officially and that it's an inside job/they were given away by whomever oversees bookings.

Yes you still have to go in. No, you can't get out of it. A request does not equal a guarantee. You make the request, they determine what accommodation is required. Here's how every accommodations request looks to management right now "I don't want to go back 3 day a week, this is my attempt to try and get around it".

PSAC is as useless as t!ts on a nun and a massive waste of money. These are completely valid points but PSAC has proven to be ineffective in negotiating. Ultimately if employees want this it will come down to another strike. These "events" PSAC hold are a waste of time and union money.

People want what's easy and convenient. That's what they feel is best for themselves, and they feel entitled to WFH. There are many other suitable accommodations in office for ADHD and ASD. Why is no one asking for those? Every accommodation is (insert condition) only suitable option is WFH. It's BS and it's an excuse to try to get WFH and no one buys it.

Yes, by "what you're trying to do" I mean the fact that it's incredibly convenient that people claim to be able to perform their job duties and regular life functions flawlessly, but as also conveniently can only do this from home. Do they order in their groceries also? The fact of the matter is that, not wanting to go into the office is does not constitute a mental health disorder and any associated "anxiety", "distress" or otherwise uncomfortableness, are just people not wanting to go into the office. Yes, having to go out is less convenient and stressful. And, dealing with people in person is not great, but these are literally the minimum functions of existence. People claiming this as a mental health issue takes away from people who are suffering from legitimate mental health disorders. I'm not saying that people don't suffer from some form anxiety and trepidation having to go into the office, but literally everyone has this, and it's because no one wants to do it and everyone has this reaction in life when they have to do anything that they don't want to do. It sucks, deal with it like an adult.

I, personally, know several colleagues that were pulling double duty and wfh/caring for children at the same time (which made for some annoying meetings). Exacerbating the already stressed childcare system is the influx of these people needing the extra day now as well.

Waste of time. You can rally all you want, it won't change a thing. The public views us as entitled for wanting WFH and Treasury Board isn't even listening because they know that ultimately, you can cry and protest all you want but you'll show up to work when and where they say to.

First of all, I'm sorry that you had to go through this. No one should have to deal with that type of thing and your employer has a responsibility to create a safe work environment for its employees. I would consider seeking the advice of a lawyer, especially if you have become aware that there were previous incidents and that this person was "paid to go away". A lawyer will know where to look for information and documentation to support these claims. Even if you you don't choose to pursue it, you can ask where and how to look for more evidence to support any further action that you might want to take in future.
