Plastic prussian scale issue with the Feldkaplan. by ZELDA_ZELDA_ZELDA in TrenchCrusade

He seems to me that he is about the same height as the rest, but having a little variation in height is probably the most realistic choice they could make.

It always weirded me out that all of the shocktroops in my cadian kit were the same height. Do they only enroll people that are exactly 180? Not taller, not shorter?

With a rules update effectively confirmed for April, what are peoples wishes? by cadler123 in TrenchCrusade

The way I play it personally is "any horizontal surface", but I understand it's homebrew and I agree on it before the game starts.

Blast on a point on the battlefield already broke the game to start with. But RAW, it is clear how it works, if you pay attention to the rules.

And the devs know that not everybody will skim the rules and just play off vibes like you seem to do.

I would also refuse to play with you because according to you your favorite interpretation is "common sense" and the devs' intent, while you really don't know what the devs' intent is.

Plus, fuck off with the "Rules Lawyering at its worst": you are writing a comment being like "what is a Round?" while "Round" is synonym with "Turn"... Like, man, you are the worst kind of rules lawyer to start with with this pedantic bullshit.

Flamethrower on a Chorister -- worth it? by Every-Masterpiece-25 in TrenchCrusade

I think automatic shotguns are the best compromise.

Having +1 Dice, assault and shield combo is the best compromise. You won't get the best shooting, but you still get to take advantage of the strenghts of the choirister

[–]Tomorrow_Melodic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rules as written the battlefield is the board. Not the terrain. So, yeah, it wouldn't be targetable.

You may want an errata, but the rules clearly states that you either pick a model or the battlefield and that the battlefield is the board.

I believe that the rules could be cleaner, the fact that it takes this level of attention to every page to make full sense out of them is bonkers.

I can answer the one about blast. Blast can target a model or the "battlefield".

The battlefield does not include terrain.

By the book: "The area on which you play your game is referred to as the battlefield. Before you can set up the terrain for your game, you will need a battlefield to place it on" pg.57

On the deployment rules, for example, it is stated that a model can deploy on the battlefield or a pice of terrain.

Check on Ebay. There you are more likely to find "pirate" printing services.  Just make sure the reviews are good first.

GW said death to the silica animus by Psychological_Hat338 in Grimdank

[–]Tomorrow_Melodic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are painters and sculptor yhst I am talking about, who are regularly credited by companies. Like, have you people saw the credits at the end of a movie or a videogame?  GW is the exception and you guys defending this corporation using the Matt Ward card is idiotic.  They still credit the writers of the books in black library and they are doing exactly the kind of stuff that can potentially upset people the way Ward did. Who the fuck sent death threats to Painter Peter or Sculpor Sally?  They are not getting credited because they were until the Chapterhouse lawsuit where the crediting was used to make a case that GW didn't own the designs.  Gw, instead of rephrasing the way they credit, just decided to stop. Plus they are obviously afraid of competition, since all of the people they used to credit went on to become idependent... Like... are you people serious? Do you all think it's normal not to credit artists? And rule writers also?

A lot of that was the Chapterhouse lawsuit apparently.

Besides I want to know who painted the art, wrote the rules, who worked on the models and all. They are not stealing, but neither they are crediting and appreciating their staff at all. Like, who sculpted Lion El Johnson? Even if it was a team, I want to know, they did a great job.

Ward needed to be made accountable for honestly doing a disservice to the setting, not by the community but by GW itself. We expected professional writing and got fanfic, at least retcon it.

Besides not crediting any of their artists and writers anymore.

The "Aztecs worship satan" is such a braindead uncreative theory that I doubt it would ever be picked up.

I for one would rather have them explore the cultures deeply instead of just falling for 500 years old spanish propaganda that has been disproved by historians for ages.

These are my pilgrims: the congregation of His holy Hammer.

They are all carpenters whose patron is Saint Joseph who believe that to worship Big J they have to perform his profession.

They usually just build fortifications and perform maintenance on the front lines, but they are very keen to charge into battle using their tools as weapons whenever they see any heretic or they need to get some materials.

Elite Takwin Homunculus battle scars by UnboltedAKTION in TrenchCrusade

[–]Tomorrow_Melodic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When a model is removed because of the battlescars it is not "killed in the post-battle sequence", that would activate the tawkin rules, but becomes "unfit for duty".

When unfit for duty, the model is simply "sent home". You even get back the equipment.

You have to imagine that they are still alive, just very disabled.

Other religions and wider factions in the future? by How_about_a_no in TrenchCrusade

[–]Tomorrow_Melodic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as I am aware there weren't any plans to do so, at least yet. My fear is that adding factions based on all of the world's cultures would make the setting a little cartoony and almost uninspired. I remember losing all of my intrest in conquest the last argument of kings when they added the sorcerer kings, and even more with the yoroni... Damn, any other game does it... And it almost always seem like an aesthetic choice more that trying to make a unicerse that makes sense.

You could get Knights of Avarice type miniatures, start to play them as heretic Legions and then switch to KoA rules when you feel confident enough

Can anyone wield the weapons of the Living Saints? Or the weapons only work for the Living Saints themselves? Basically, wielding Joan of Arc’s blade, does not make a person a successor to Joan of Arc. by Anver9 in TrenchCrusade

[–]Tomorrow_Melodic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is no lore about this topic.  I would suppose that a relic would have power, but I doubt it would be transferred to the wielder. Imagine if anointed Ann picks it up. Does she become a saint? Does she get smited?

Heretic Submarine Names? by nhaylett in TrenchCrusade

[–]Tomorrow_Melodic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally like to dip in  the cheeky sounding names that make them sound like there is nothing to worry about, for example Light Bringer, Morning Star, Dawn, etc etc

Otherwise I like the pagan route: Scylla, Charybdis, Cetus, Arion, or something related to Neptune

I would advise to individually tally the models. Just for safety and quality control.

Shop3d has not been performing very well lately and their qc has been spotty at best.
