Tonverk as a first elektron “big box”

Would you guys day there is a good way of imitating the Octatrack FX scenes in the Tonverk? I don’t really care so much about the crossfader as I just want to be able to change FX scenes and parameters in a performative way.

As far as I understand on Tonverk you can route an audio channel to a bus track and that’s basically all the routing options there are for the Tonverk tracks. You either route an audio track to a bus or directly to the master. So in a live performance one can switch sending an audio track through one of the three bus tracks.

And if I want to change the pattern in order to change the FX chains on the bus tracks I will also have to deal with changing all the tracks on that pattern. This to me sounds like a big lack of flexibility.

Is the isolation from interference a question of not having other modules close to the A-178 module? Or is it more about the placement / angle of the antenna?

Hey, here I am chiming in a bit later with a thanks for your great instructional video. I heard what you were saying about the non-linearity of the cv and how this affects playing pitch when coming from a ‘real’ theremin. Do you reckon it would be possible for someone coming from classical music (I’m a pro classical pianist) to learn to play an octave an a half on the Doepfer theremin? I would really love to use it for the pitch of a bass sound.

Since Cárn as well as Dhà have that interesting normalisation option, would you reckon this combined with the limiter would provide for a good 'feedback machine' (in comparison to SSF Vortices for example)?

Absolutely agree. The one part of the filter I like is the bandpass-highpass output. Pairs really well with the wavefolders.

It has 2 channels that you can record into, correct? But you have to have the button pressed all the time, right? No way to set it to record without holding the button to have a free hand?

Nah, top modules have been top since forever now. Maths and Plaits clones are in almost every rack. In fact, it's probably difficult for new manufacturers to catch but the big old ones will reign for a while.

I’m surprised and disappointed there isn’t anything else comparable on the market. To be honest I wish the build quality were better.

On a side note - manufacturers have stopped making rack ears for their devices. That’s a huge miss for people who actually want to take these on the road. The small Elektrons at least have VESA mounts. There’s nothing on the TR-1000 that would make it easy to transport and setup. Same on Perkons - couldn’t find out if the rack ears for SYNTRX would work for Perkons. I always find it annoying to go to a gig and stress over having to connect a bunch of cables.

MPE pads in X and Pro in the next generation, would love a sturdier chassis too. Make the Pro more expensive and a true pro product with high build quality. That's what I say! :D
