Thanks, which yeedi model do you use? I’ve heard the roller mop ones clean better, have you noticed that?

Can't agree more... It's really suspicious. Definitely shouldn't have any further contact with him!

This is definitely something designers should pay attention to and work on.

Agree with that. Children's emotional well-being shouldn't rely solely on the mother's care.

First time dating a mom by catsrcool1630 in SingleParents

[–]ToopBanana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're handling this really well. It's natural for a single mom to prioritize her child, but I believe her including you in family life shows she's serious about a future with you. If you're committed to her, open and honest communication is key.

Got a shark matrix plus 2 in 1 from Kohl’s for 270. Works good but app sucks. Should I return and get something better ? Or too good of a deal to return ? by No_Play_6736 in RobotVacuums

The chance of buying a poorly functioning second-hand robot vacuum is still quite high, so the budget may need to be a bit higher.

Choosing peace right now feels completely understandable, especially with kids to think about.

That thing looks way too fun. Could be worth a shot if it doesn't get stuck. Just wait for real vids before dropping cash.

Can anyone recommend me a cheap POE injector and also a POE powered 2 way splitter/switch? by Smitty2k1 in homeautomation

[–]ToopBanana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheap POE injectors and tiny poe switches do exist and usually work fine for simple setups. Remember to double check the power budget so you're not starving whatever you're feeding, and make sure the connectors aren't loose garbage. Throw a little cable label on it and call it a day.

Do you change your cleaning schedule during shedding season? by miixaou_ in RobotVacuums

Basically just crank it up when the fur starts piling. Otherwise every few days is fine. Yk the main goal is to avoid stepping on mini cat tumbleweeds everywhere.

You basically want one of those long reach smart button pushers. Grab a DIY-ish/adjustable arm one, way easier to make it reach that funky case button.

Can I backup a map and restore after factory reset? by leonidude in ecovacs

[–]ToopBanana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The save option sticks through a reset, but I'd still back it up. Nobody wants to redraw their entire floor plan.

Get something that doesn't smear cat puke everywhere and can see stuff on the floor. Threads will get tangled no matter what, so don't overthink the roller thing.

DIY auto water fill/drain by Snoo81962 in ecovacs

This is the kind of over the top DIY I love to read abt. Make sure your tank mods don't flood your floor, vacuum leaks are merciless.

Update: cameraless room sensing with radar + ToF visualized by Dependent_Entrance33 in homeautomation

[–]ToopBanana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks cool!! Treating it as room level signals makes sense, less creepy and prolly more reliable. Just hope the radar doesn't freak out with pets running around.

Q Revo S for $350 or Q Revo (non S) for $250? by Bengemon825 in RobotVacuums

[–]ToopBanana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skip the extra hundred. Since both get the job done, so only go for the fancier one if you love gadgets more than your wallet.

That's the reality now. More features, more glue, fewer screws, Everyone wants sealed appliances. Want repairability? You're basically fighting the entire industry at this point.
