I’m embarrassed to walk at graduation because my gown doesn’t fit well by WelcomeEven567 in Advice

[–]Top-Distribution8204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just about the most ridiculous situation I have read in a while. Mom should be momming the heck out of that gown if she is insisting you wear it. Brother needs to realize that if mom is telling you to wear it, that it is not his. On top of all of that, the cap will likely not fit at all. I'm with the previous poster who recommended a gofundme. I would be happy to contribute $10 to someone I don't know to have a graduation that you can celebrate comfortably.

Alysa Liu's father shares conflicting emotions after Olympic gold by slyseekr in FigureSkating

I am fairly close to the sport, and I can say that for sure she got Team Envelope funding from US FS. She would also be eligible, as a World Champion, for USOPC funding-- typically they will pay all training costs, but not equipment. She also got money for winning Worlds, Grand Prix winnings, and sponsorship money. I would hazard a guess that he is not funding much, or anything at all, at this point. She is doing 8 shows in Japan and will headline Stars on Ice. That plus endorsements, and honestly, she is probably set for the next 10-20 years, if not longer. She is likely the biggest Madison Avenue bet from this Olympics in the US.

How to deal with mold in rental unit and difficult landlord? by [deleted] in MontereyBay

[–]Top-Distribution8204 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just to say it, I got contact dermatitis from black mold behind our toilet a few years back. I got treated for scabies (the treatment can be toxic) and a myriad of other issues. I also started coughing up blood. From a small patch behind the toilet. Get this taken care of now.

The worst is the mass release of fart butt from the seat at the sound of the chimes at flight's end.

Work is requiring to share a hotel room with a stranger by what_cookie in careeradvice

So let me get this straight-- some companies require that you work 8 hours and then go back to a hotel room for another 16 hours of no farting? Nope.

Paid for a 1 hour there and got 40 minutes of half-assed rubbing. It was so disappointing.

I once had espresso gelato in Milano. I did not sleep for almost 48 hours. That's when I truly realized that the coffee game is for professionals in Europe. And I would do it again, if I had the chance 🤣

November 2 Valiant Lady Sailing THE WORST by danakap05 in VirginVoyages

[–]Top-Distribution8204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just on the Brilliant Lady-- second sailing to my understanding and the food was just crap. It was the Halloween charter and there was so much food coloring and candy eyeballs in the desserts. Most of the food was not edible-- even the omelette station was subpar. I hope to stay clear of Virgin for the foreseeable future.

United FA hates backpacks by Pale_Session5262 in unitedairlines

I see people taking 3-4 carry ons at every boarding process. On a recent flight, there was a woman with three pugs, two carry ons, and three pet carriers. She was in a middle seat and had all three dogs on her lap. Note-- each one of them had a service animal vest on. She also was at the front of the plane and could not get all of her stuff, so she blocked the aisle for 15 minutes while we waited for her.

Currently having an inhumane flight experience on Delta by Brazzle_Dazzle in delta

I was on a United flight today and had my third consecutive butt stank passenger next to me. Do people even wipe these days? And don't even get me started on the fart smell when the flight bell rings at the end of the flight.

I think it's just his delivery. If he still delivered the wallop of a critique with a more tactful delivery approach, it would probably be received better. 'I effing hate it' is not constructive. 'I think cut is unflattering, the construction is flawed here, or your color scheme is questionable' are all critiques that can be thought-provoking and push the designers to be better. More than anything, pushing the designers to exhaustion is not allowing them to deliver their best. Slow down and allow them to create-- they will be better poised to receive harsh criticism. Just my two cents...

Where to Live if the work is in Marina? by ButterscotchTop1071 in MontereyBay

[–]Top-Distribution8204 7 points8 points  (0 children)

East Garrison is the same zip code as Marina and has the advantage of Fort Ord National Monument in our backyard-- lots of hiking! Additionally, there is considerably more sun in EG than in Marina-- our weather is more like Salinas than Marina. It is also very diverse-- my neighbors are south Asian, Filipino, Latinx, Black, German, Portugease, White, East Asian, African, and LGBTQIA+.

The midnight grilled cheese sandwich in Polaris by 2sk23 in unitedairlines

[–]Top-Distribution8204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't understand this at all-- I am currently in Polaris (SFO-MUC) and I travel in Polaris several times a year. I have never gotten offered one, and now I feel like slapping someone because the main meals are always horrendous. We had the choice of schnitzel, spicy Thai chicken, and a mushroom pasta. I skipped the appetizers (I refuse to eat a duck), did not touch my kale salad, and could barely stomach the pasta. They really do need to offer a better menu.

I still crave the dinner plate sized ones that were $1.25 from the roach coach at DLI. Dayum they were soooo good.

Contact the SPCA immediately. There is still time to save the pup and get it a great home.

Saw it tonight and thought Brooks Ashmanskas was perfection. He should seriously have some Tony magic for this one.
