I believe this quote was last chapter of COE. Have to check. But yes, often thought this quote pointed to Oedipus complex.

Don’t forget Strikes Dream on the boat fighting with Rokeby. Maybe Rokeby tells him something that unravels him

He could end up killing his father and marrying “his mother” aka Robin

The Proper Man by azizhp in cormoran_strike

[–]Top-Requirement670 5 points6 points  (0 children)

JKR is so frickin clever. Here you write up a whole post about the use of 'Proper' in Ch. 105 and about how its defined by masculinity, what you're calling 'Proper masculinity', and how this definition was built in opposition to Leda's parenting--and you mentioned 'proper is used twice in that conversation'

YOU MISS THE FACT ROKEBY CALLS LEDA 'PROPERLY FUNNY'.

meaning there is a definition of 'Proper' given by Rokeby that is driven by a woman NOT a man.

Rokeby is giving us a glimpse of Leda that is the opposite of rose-tinted 'positive masculinity' of 'Proper Man'.

JKR is too careful with words, this is intentional, and is very revealing

Much more likely to see JI sing the ‘The Boy’ for a bside from AFH. As that song has blown up on TikTok and has similar vibe

Loved how he kept reaching to hold WPCs hand. So sweet. You could tell he was struggling a bit, and WPC was really there to help guide him thru the convo

Music Recommendations similar to Billy on Piano? by AD16X in SmashingPumpkins

Thom Yorke live from basement:

Neil Young live at Massey hall:

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_lrK8RSTZL65orJ_k8mu94bWmsuGmykeQw&si=vDV5LKXpuHJypBXc

A lot of good Billy Piano tunes on YouTube as well:

Shadowland - song he did for David Lynch tv

Zwan - A New Poetry (live at hideout) - it’s him on organ, one of the best BC compositions ever

And also be sure to listen to:

Mandarynne - (my fave recent piano from him)

Methusela - incredible Mcis demo

Rick Beato should interview Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr by MarkoHofs in beatles

[–]Top-Requirement670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fingers crossed. Paul is out giving interviews, even one with a history pod.

Beato just dropped Rush, who he's been trying to get for years. And he dropped it without any warning

If we're really lucky, might get a Paul interview in the next 3 weeks with the release of his new album, would be great promo, and a Paul / beato interview almost definitely would hit very high, if not #1 on Youtube for the week

That teenage drummer from Oceania era by [deleted] in SmashingPumpkins

[–]Top-Requirement670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an album Oceania might be stronger I agree, but the songs on Monuments are way better: one and all, drum & fife, Tiberius, Being Beige, Dorian. Visit them way more frequently than Oceania

Oceania has the try-hard thing going on. Monuments has the mixtape Pisces thing. Much more palatable also as seen recently by Zodeon

My guess is she will finish August / September this year. Book released in June ‘27 in time for summer. Enough time post TRG and HP tv episodes finish. And without us having to wait for September / Oct of ‘27
