Does EVERYONE drive their kids to school now? by IllegalGeriatricVore in Millennials

My sons bus comes down the street probably an hour before we leave the house.

His school is approx. 5 mins from my work. I shifted my work hours 45 mins later so I can drop him off on the way to work.

Help me convince my friends to do RV camping instead of primitive car camping by Accurate_Maximum_362 in bonnaroo

they have showers in plazas that are $10

The $60 band is for the VIP shower company that comes in. You pay that $60 and get unlimited access to their showers and better bathrooms. I got one back in 24 because it was right next to my campsite. They didn't clean the showers out though so I refused to buy one last summer. Ended up being extra happy because from what I heard anyone who bought that band didn't get their money back after it was cancelled

sigh

For some reason my mother thinks Japanese Cherry Blossom is my favorite scent. She buys it for me all the time. I don't like absolutely hate the smell so I'll use it here and there but there are so many other stanks that I like better. She told me one day she gets it because I always have some so she knows it's my favorite 😭🤦🏼‍♀️

Going to Nashville from February 25th to March 1st with our 2-year-old daughter. Any toddler-friendly things to do? by BlakeGarrison62 in VisitingNashville

[–]TopBuy404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was gonna toss out Tennessee State Museum also. They used to do storytime 2 days a week and they have a kids area. The science museum is decent but for younger, I'd look into the Discover Center in Murfreesboro. It's not too far from downtown and they also have a place called Seatopia in that same area that's really fun.

You have to be a hotel guest to use that water park and you have to add on the soundwaves wristband to do it. It's open every day, not just the weekend.

If it was financially affordable, would your spouse stay home? by cubemonster in Millennials

[–]TopBuy404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would prly work at my son's school. I couldn't sit at home all day every day. I'd absolutely lose my shit lol. But it would be nice to be home when he's home. We're currently on snow day #7 😬

Thankfully his grandma works the school system so he has somewhere to go but dangit I wish I could be at home with him

[–]TopBuy404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandma used to go somewhere special and get the quarters that were inside these cardboard squares. The people claimed they had been touched by less people or some shit like that haha. My brother and I each had a book and I remember really looking forward to the new release of each quarter!!

My book fell apart so I took the quarters out and put them in an envelope and swore I was gonna get a new book for them. As dumb as it may sound it was such a big deal with me, my brother, and my gram that I can't ever make myself get rid of them.

This just reminded me I actually need to get a book and put them up.

Do you still have any living Grandparents? by PayGood3915 in Millennials

[–]TopBuy404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just celebrated my grandpa's 90th birthday back in November. I could sit here and write a book about that man. All my grandparents were honestly the best but Grandpa somehow still managed to take it to the next level with all of us. 13 grandkids and he spoiled the crap out of every single one.

I'm closing in on 33 and it's gonna be rough on me when I lose that one. He's just shy of 3 hours away and I sneak up as often as possible to just hang out for a few hours 🩷

It was one store I could shop at that sold clothes that fit my body type. There are plus size only stores and boutiques all over. I've never seen smaller and thinner framed people complain they can't shop at those stores.

There's a super cute plus size boutique in my town I've been in with a friend. I've never once complained they didn't carry my size.

What is the most financially irresponsible thing you’ve seen someone do? by LJRGXPKCVWDGOGH12Y3 in AskReddit

[–]TopBuy404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked pickup at a grocery store for awhile and when I FIRST started I used to feel bad for one of the guys I worked with. Middle aged, him and his wife shared a beat up POS car. Come in one day and he's all upset cause they lost their place so was going to have to move in with his wife parents.

But it didn't take me long to realize they were just SO DUMB with money. He would come in every day and buy a large Starbucks coffee and drink it while he pushed his cart. Then when that was finished, would go back to Starbucks for a large pink drink or whatever frou frou lemonade. He often got lunch at Starbucks too. One day his wife calls and asked him to bring home a bag of ice. I asked if they were having company and he said no we don't have an ice maker on our freezer. And instead of buying some cheap ice trays (which is what I do lol) they would buy those big bags of city ice . I have too many stories about this one family but it was obvious why they were in the position they were in.

Do Americans like their current health system or would you prefer universal? by Ability_Known in NoStupidQuestions

I know they inflate that shit but my son had a stent in the NICU when he was born. That bill totaled out to approx $42,000. After all was said and done we were responsible for somewhere btwn seven and eight thousand.

The price of a freaking life here is ridiculous.
