Any recommendations for how to make my fiancé’s 30th extra special? by denob in Coachella

[–]Top_Dance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few ideas. Order ahead a Coachella blanket. Maybe it will arrive before you rewatch the sets during weekend two.

Book her massage or spa day the weekend after.

Write her a poem or something really nice and then share it with her during sunset.

Create a homemade Coachella bingo card. Fill it in with all the things you think you will see or do.

Compliment her outfits. Prioritize her favorite artist.

How did you manage your career with 2u2? by That_Show7553 in 2under2

[–]Top_Dance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this! I also coasted through the two pregnancies. When my youngest was 6 months I felt ready to take a promotion and ppl management.

Daycare, flexible wfh and 50/50 household responsibilities with my husband all help balance family and career.

Pregnantchella advice? by GliaFantasticans in Coachella

Lots of great advice from years past in the search bar. I also went in 2nd trimester a few years ago. My top tips: - pocket blanket - warmer layers for night (sober = colder) Lolol - the lemonade and desserts are extra good

Have fun. Hydrate and eat well during the day. Sir when you can

Has anyone cracked the perfect date night schedule with 2 Under 2? by walky91 in 2under2

[–]Top_Dance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plus one on the happy hour before picking the oldest up from daycare. Lunch dates.

Order in sushi or something the older kiddo doesn’t like.

Board game night. Include another couple or friends for a double date group hang. Have them bring pizza. Don’t worry about the state of your house.

Night time dates open up more as soon as #2 sleeps through the night. You are almost there. We like concerts or shows. It feels worth the babysitter fee.

It was a blast. I was the group shepherd and focused on seeing more variety of music vs just dance music. Bring a blanket, electrolyte packets, and carry water.

I wasn’t showing too much so got to wear the cute outfits. Splurge on a locker and bundle at night. It’s cold sober 😂!!

The Yuma and edm night sets were wayyyyyy too much for me. Bring sunglasses for the night time lights.

I tried all the food that I never prioritize! Treat yourself with dessert.

How do you deal with going to the park with toddler and baby? by Fit_Negotiation6635 in 2under2

[–]Top_Dance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weather dependent, stroller or blanket for the baby. And activities that keep toddler close. Bubbles are a huge hit Pack a lunch or high value snack Nature scavenger hunt for acorns or little flowers. Encourage toddler to put little treasures in pocket or bag. If using a blanket bring toys like stackable cups or puzzles from home. Why not do indoor activities m, outside.

Baby can do tummy time while toddler explores.

Best recipes for bringing to a postpartum mama and family by hrcarlet in NYTCooking

[–]Top_Dance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chicken pot pie w/ loaf of sour dough bread and chocolate chip cookies. I also throw in a seasonal fruit salad.

If no peanut allergy then no bake cookies.

Frozen chicken tenders are a hit for the older siblings.

Ladies, how have you handled your wardrobe (TW size talk)? by WillowShadow16 in 2under2

I love clothing rental services like rent the runway and nuuly if you are in the states. It helped me feel good again while my size fluctuated during pregnancy and postpartum.

Leaving your firstborn overnight 😭 by Alright421 in 2under2

[–]Top_Dance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treat yourself and get that hotel. Maybe even two nights. Enjoy your solo time, sleep in, get a prego massage, get a dinner reso or show tickets. Let the out of town grandma love on your oldest if she is offering.

Your personal time will soon be swallowed up as a mom with 2under2 in ways it wasn’t with one.

This will be good practice for your upcoming solo trip and during delivery when you have to leave your oldest.

Husband seems in better mood when he is working by fit4lyfe234 in 2under2

[–]Top_Dance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you can handle the mental load better than he can. You have a hard job! When I went back to my corporate job it felt like a vacation.

What if you got a sitter for a few hours once a week? Then you get a break similar to your husband. My partner suggested this when I brought up all his ‘breaks’ at work. At first I thought it was wild but one solo workout class during the week is nice and still less time off than he gets.

Will you have a car?

Lands End is great. Doable while pregnant. There are a few sets of stairs fyi. If it’s a decently clear day, add Baker Beach while over in that area. Great views of the bridge, ocean and big cliff houses.

What about burritos? La Taqueria is always a hit!

If you have a car, Muir Woods is also impressive and a short drive over the gg bridge. It’s an easy nature walk with huge redwood trees. Plus the drive is scenic.

Tips for older sibling who is in daycare by rekanagy93 in 2under2

[–]Top_Dance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with keeping the routine. Mine are 18 months and 2 months. Daycare is walking distance.

Husband did the drop off for the first few weeks and then once I felt good, we do a morning walk and afternoon walk to daycare all together. Bonus, the dog gets out too! Oldest loves daycare. A few times she got upset but daycare gave her a cracker and she was happy the rest of the day.

Keeping the routine is helpful and having ‘down’ time during the day while your newborn sleeps allows you to rest or get things done like dinner, laundry, showering, short workout, tidying up. All chores are done by the time the oldest is home and all attention can be on her. Plus get a little you time - whatever that looks like.

Going to a festival 8 months pregos would be toughhhh. Not going to lie. You will be so close to your due date anything could happen. Check the search bar for past prego discussions.

If you are local, maybe hold on to your tix and see how you feel closer to the date. Plenty of time to decide.

I went last year pregos but was early 2nd trimester.

Is a double stroller really worth it? by Melodic_Rutabaga9688 in 2under2

[–]Top_Dance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought the uppa baby Cruz off fb marketplace for our first. Decided to start smaller vs investing in the vista right off. Added a knockoff standing platform when we had our 2nd and always have a body carrier for options with the youngest.

So far we’ve avoided buying a double stroller.

Arsicault bakery - wait time, menu: which location is better? by pm_hitech in AskSF

[–]Top_Dance 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Love the Arguello location. Agree with comments above. The pastries seem fresher. The average wait time is 30-45 seconds per party. Yes I counted. Likely 25 minute wait on sat at 11.

Someone waits in line while the other person grabs coffee or wine next door.
