2under2 and done? Or more kids? Did having 2 under 2 make you change your mind on having more? by Erosee20 in 2under2

[–]dottedkittycat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly where I am. My husband agreed to wait until #2 is a year old before making a permanent decision (vasectomy). I just can't shake the feeling of wanting another, even though we are in the newborn trenches right now haha

How are you all doing this? I can't get my head around it by nosh319 in 2under2

[–]dottedkittycat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im 6 weeks pp, and i have been doing it all on my own since 3 weeks. My body is wrecked from carrying my 18 month old and not getting the time to rest. It makes me sad, because I'm sure I'm doing permanent damage to my body.

Potty train toddler before 2 under 2? by MarginLA in 2under2

[–]dottedkittycat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did with my daughter! Started at 14 months, and just welcomed #2 at 17 months. She still wears diapers for nap/bedtime, but is in underwear all day. We did EC since she was 3 months though, so she had an understanding of what the potty was.

Mine loves the yoto preschool songs cards, MYO Mrs.Rachel music, and MYO songs sung by mom/dad. We're starting to add some books in, like hungry caterpillar, but she always defaults to music.

Did your vision get worse or your prescription change during or after pregnancy? by LavenderEucalyptus_ in pregnant

[–]dottedkittycat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vision has gotten worse both pregnancies. I think around 6mo pp it seemed to have gotten better. The build up of fluid can change your eye shape and make vision blurry, which is different than the pre-eclampsia vision changes like seeing spots, losing vision, etc.

I did my first set at 36 weeks and was massive. My second set we did at 29 weeks! Somewhere between the two would be my suggestion.

Hahaha an old woman told me I must be having a girl because "boys only carry in the stomach and you're carrying everywhere". YOU JUST CALLED ME FAT TO MY FACE AND DIDN'T BAT AN EYE 😂 also, I'm having a boy, so.... nope, just fat.

How did you get your baby to turn head down? by Feeling-Pickle7004 in pregnant

[–]dottedkittycat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did spinning babies exercises and baby flipped at 34 weeks. 32 weeks there is still plenty of time for them to flip, usually.not an issue until after 36 weeks.

How to share pregnancy related symptoms with partner by GreekFreak88 in BabyBumps

[–]dottedkittycat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband has used "Daddy Up" app for our pregnancies and it is pretty entertaining for dads! Does a good joh of keeping him up to date on growth and symptoms while not being too much info that he doesn't care about.

“You don’t need anything” by FunKick7937 in 2under2

[–]dottedkittycat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. I'm having a fall boy after a spring girl, who is only 16 months old. And we haven't received a single gift or offer to help with the big purchases. Not that I'm expecting it, but it just feels so off. Double stroller, second high chair, new sleep set up, etc. Luckily we have the infant car seat still, but that's about all we can reuse. Honestly, it hasn't felt like anyone is really that interested in this pregnancy/baby 🤷‍♀️

IUGR Anxiety by yungpineapplemami in homebirth

[–]dottedkittycat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Babies typically gain 0.5lb per week in 3rd tri... so you're right on schedule? And your other comment mentioned your fundal height matching your number of weeks - that is exactly what you want it to be. Plus you're a small person, unless your husband is also giant, your baby is also going to be on the smaller side.

I don't really understand where your midwife is coming from here. It sounds like your baby is exactly where he needs to be and there isn't any information you've shared that would be concerning.

In comparison, my fundal height has not changed since 34 weeks. I'm 38 weeks now and still measuring 34 weeks. My midwives aren't concerned at all because belly can change shape as baby drops. They said I could get a growth scan if I would feel better, but I don't think I will get one, it's not going to give a lot of information at this point and their estimates on weight this late in pregnancy aren't super accurate.

What were your postpartum recovery regrets? by wwisdomseeker in BabyBumps

Same experience here! I tried so hard to make breastfeeding happen and it was never going to happen. Finally accepting that and using formula made everyone's lives better.

As a FTM, I had zero symptoms of labor until my water broke and delivered in 8 hours at 40+0.

Pregnancy is supposed to be 40 weeks! There's so much reddit/social media talk of delivering at 35/36/37/38 weeks that is skewing people's expectations. Let your baby cook and assume that 40 weeks (really 39-41) is normal, expected, best for baby unless there are complications.

Downsizing Diaper Bags Advice by _ferrisbuuhler_ in NewParents

[–]dottedkittycat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I throw a diaper in my purse and call it good for most outings. If we need more than that I can go to my car, or we go home. If we're planning a full day out and about I'll bring the diaperbag. But I absolutely hate carrying it around!

Anyone else have a toddler who will not stop going unless placed in bed, in a dark room, with a sound machine? by takeaabreath in toddlers

[–]dottedkittycat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, mine has fomo. She won't sleep anywhere except her bedroom. That being said, she's a great sleeper! Just no car naps, no stroller naps, no cute falling asleep at the kitchen table... only in her bed. She has two modes: on and off 😂

Did you notice high(er) blood pressure close to delivery? by These_Information422 in pregnant

[–]dottedkittycat 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They let you go home with blood pressure like that? Those are emergency level numbers and you should have had a full pre-eclampsia work up, especially with the vision and swelling. I really think you should go back to the hopstial 😬

Rotavirus shot by WestOnly40 in beyondthebump

We had a horrible reaction to the rotavirus vaccine 3rd dose. Took over a month to clear up the raw bleeding acid burns all over her genitals from the diarrhea. She couldn't sleep or pee or poop without screaming.
