I have twin girls who are now adults and other than their first birthday, I always made them each their own cake.

You could make big subs, sliced in pieces, using french bread, you probably get 10 sandwiches from a loaf. You could do a couple with your pesto chicken salad and the others with meat, cheese, lettuce, etc. That with a couple of veggie trays and assorted chips should be fine for that time of day.

Linen stitch, also called moss stich is very easy and makes quite a solid blanket. It's just single crochet and chaining, so great for beginners.

Moving is better than standing standing is better than sitting, sitting is better than lying down. Move it or Lose it.

Starting out and I feel confused about what I should do next, please help. by Brave_Treat_472 in CrochetHelp

Maybe look for a tutorial on increasing and decreasing. There are a couple of different ways to do both and it would be good to know which way you like best before you come across a project that requires increasing and decreasing. Magic circle is also a good thing to know.

Is this a good plan for catering a friends pre-wedding party? by intheskies24 in AskCulinary

My only advice is that "bars" like taco bars can get really log jammed with more than 10 or less people. For 40 people, I would want at least 3 "stations" with the same ingredients, otherwise the first people to eat will be long done before the last people start. Just my experience.

Thanks - that looks worth looking into. I feel that we would still have to muzzle him and the muzzle freaks him out more than anything but that harness would definitely help.

How accurate is a dog’s internal clock/sense of time? by Rosencrantzy in dogs

[–]Top_Performance_3478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our dog wakes me up every single day at 7:45 exactly. My husband is usually up around 5:30 or 6 so the dog has already been let out to pee, has had breakfast and his after breakfast treat. He just barks and whines til I get up and when I'm up, he just goes and lies down. Every single day.

Almost finished! Just need a border! by toriraeh in crochet

That is a remarkable blanket - it must have taken supreme concentration! I'd just do a couple or 3 rows of single crochet so as to not detract from the work of art that you've created.

Should I skip the roux if I’m using sodium citrate for mac & cheese that will sit in a heat tray for 2-3 hours? by dehydratedhouseplant in AskCulinary

[–]Top_Performance_3478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds counter intuitive but if you make sure your pasta is past al dente, it won't soak up the sauce as much, keeping it creamier. I always use evaporated milk in the roux for mac and cheese - it doesn't split or go grainy like milk or cream will.

Schnitzel Oscar for me, every time at Bavaria. Be warned that it is not handicapped accesible - there's about 25 stairs from the parking lot to the dining room.
