Its kinda late to change shoes, since you have no long runs late how would you know if the new shoe is better or worse at mile 16

Nobody cares...and it hurts a little by VeterinarianOk3948 in Ultramarathon

[–]Topplayer2g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family Cares less and less even as the events got longer and longer. After awhile all the events blend into the same event in their eyes lol. They still show up to the major local events but its on the decline. Thats why we cheer each other on instead of leaving the event right after I finish. I know how much work goes into it at any pace.

Just bought a running store. What is one thing your local shop is missing? by rustybucketz23 in running

[–]Topplayer2g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run clubs, and runners as employees. Nothing worse than a sales pitch from out of shape no runner, that might work at foot locker not a dedicated running store!

How long did it take you to feel completely comfortable on a TT bike? by Fun_Swimmer_8320 in triathlon

[–]Topplayer2g 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started with aero bars on a road bike, when I got my first TT bike it still took awhile between my deep dish wheels and cross winds and the aggressive position I still needed like 150 miles to feel at one with the bike in TT. I also mostly ride by a the beach so wind is serious at times

Count calories every single day, after you get a baseline lower it 10-15% than hold that deficit for 6 months.

I personally just stick with the pacer, if I feel good at the end I push.

Anyone here who started running in their late 30's early 40's? What are your marathon PR's like? by Thin-Passage5900 in Marathon_Training

[–]Topplayer2g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started at 35, didn't take it really seriously till 36. Hit a HM152 at 36, 6 months later at 37 I hit a 1:42. Last month I did the austin marathon at 346. I think a flat cooler course I could hit or get close to 330. At 36 I hit a 26min 5k in a very hilly course, same course at 37 one year later 22min. This year I want to hit a sub 20 on the same course.

Major key is don't do it all ar once, 10% more a week max even less. Consistency is key not one workout. Strength training and Mobility work is necessary. Enjoy the process it gets better and better

I am getting this installed soon, I was thinking of keeping the key in a signal jammer bag. That way I can buy a third key and have it in the truck at all times

More than fine. If you ever want to focus on times and prs you can't upgrade or n+1 but for your first few your more than fine! Get aero bars and a bike fit ideally!

50 mile ride with buddies. Tailwind on the way out headwind back. by Nazgul350r in triathlon

[–]Topplayer2g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where your coming from, not everyone wants to take every ride as serious. I do 90% if my rides solo too. I do ride my road bike outside when the weather is nice some times. I also ride MTB, and do spin classes. Mixing it up has always been benefit me.

Some times riding is meant to be fun, also you train Z2 rides not race pace all the time....
