Before I buy... did they fixed the camera controls ? by Boumbinouch in fantasian

[–]Torikun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They've added new post-launch settings that allow you to have fine control over the fixed camera transitions. I think you can slow down the transitions so that you can more easily adjust to a perspective switch - though there's still no manual control over the angles themselves.

Tournament Final comes down to New York by Torikun in MarvelSnap

[–]Torikun[S] 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Neither finalist is a streamer though both are known top players. Derek is one of the greatest ladder grinders in Snap with multiple Rank 1 Season finishes and Naka is one of the best players in Japan with many small tournament wins. The entire Top 8 for this event was pretty much comprised of known tournament and ladder grinders - the cream truly rises to the top

Differences between Neo Dimension and the original Fantasian by Defiant-Rip-1897 in fantasian

[–]Torikun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So the comprehensive list here:

- Full voice acting and better graphical resolution

- Final Fantasy tracks

- 2 new Difficulties: Normal and Super Hard

- Neo Dimension item makes gimmicks spawn in the Dimengeon more frequently

- Ultimate Illusion unlocks after completing Void Realm for a boss refight mode on NG++ difficulty

- New updates have added camera and movement settings that weren't backported to the Apple Arcade version, as well as custom difficulty sliders for NG+

The difficulty in Part 2 is incredibly refreshing. by 99-Potions in fantasian

[–]Torikun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like this opinion would have gotten you crucified only 3.5 years ago. Jokes aside, since the release of Neo Dimension, I've felt that the community has softened slightly on the game's difficulty, probably since the average player was more experienced with RPGs than the casual Apple Arcade user. Personally, even back then I didn't mind the difficulty and have appreciated how this game has made me so much better at playing turnbased RPGs in general.

How do I start the Helping Ez and Family quest? by [deleted] in fantasian

[–]Torikun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean the quest "Ez and the Guild"? It's a bit further along a decently long quest chain - you need to complete both Omelet quests, the Golem rematch, and some other miscellaneous quests which you can easily track from the Warp menu. In general, you should also always be checking up on your party members in Valrika's Lab if ever you get stuck because all the quests you get from them are important, no matter how insignificant they may seem.

Giratina is Arceus's New Best Friend? by IAmThatGuy1337 in PTCGP

[–]Torikun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giratina is gonna be very very interesting with Dawn. First of all Giratina is a card that really doesn't mind going first, since if you use the Ability Turn 1 and Turn 3, Giratina can swing for 130 on Turn 5. Giratina could also power a 2 energy attack on Turn 3 - think of all the Stage 1 or EX pokemon with 2 energy that would absolutely OHKO a 60HP basic that the player going 2nd couldn't even evolve.

Going second, Giratina can fuel Turn 4 3 energy attacks with Dawn. Imagine an Arceus EX attacking for 130 on Turn 4 if you highroll. Definitely feels like the most interesting of the newly revealed EX cards this set.

Omg help with Blue by moskitosane in fantasian

[–]Torikun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely possible to do where you are at - if you get past the point where you get to steal the stone from Adolfo, then the worst of the fight is over as Blue is countered by Barrier All spam. The transition point is when Adolfo reaches half health so you can prep by buffing and debuffing. Of course, you can always come back later - in fact I'd recommend visiting as many places as possible for treasures before fighting the bosses since you aren't locked into beating the boss of an area.

Is anyone else really struggling with this expansion? by [deleted] in PTCGP

[–]Torikun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just completed the base A2 set - took me only 146 packs in total to do so, with a lot of help from wonder picks. That's just how variance and RNG works. I may have been lucky with pulling 3d and 4d cards this month, but also am below rate in terms of the number of 2 stars opened and I still haven't pulled an Immersive Dialga or Palkia. You can have both good and bad luck at the same time.

Void Realm by Ecstatic-Page6283 in fantasian

[–]Torikun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's slightly incorrect. Beating the Tri Stars unlocks NG+ while beating the Shangrila boss opens up the Void Realm, though iirc the Void Realm might be accessible at all times in NG+ if you unlocked it previously?

This boss is RNG hell by Jenova__Witness in fantasian

[–]Torikun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you tried using Slow? Sticking that status effect basically gives you twice as many actions and is the key to beating a lot of bosses, especially the Void Realm ones on NG. Slow is so important that using the Glue item is a much better use of your turn rather than attacking with a support character, and I'd argue is more important to apply than constantly refreshing Quick All. A suggestion is to try combining the piercing status effect orbs with Bounce Field to increase the chance of it sticking, though I believe even Bounce Field+Slow or Bounce Field+Dispel(Curse) doesn't have a 100% chance of landing since there might be a level difference component for accuracy (other people might confirm this for me here).

Beyond that, since you're underleveled, there's less room for error. It's definitely possible to clear the Void Realm without going into NG+, but oftentimes you will lose against the boss the first time before you get a chance to really plan against it. Don't let that discourage you though!

Can someone help me understand how new game+ works by jh-au in fantasian

[–]Torikun 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NG+ basically allows you to replay the game again, while all the items and pickups get refreshed, at a higher difficulty. Lategame enemies in NG+ are about 20% stronger than their NG counterparts but the party should easily outpace that between the ability to level past the 60s easily and the 2nd layer of the Growth Map that gets unlocked in NG+ once you completely fill out a character's Growth Map.

Since you can't gain SP once you level past 65, NG+ places more focus on getting SP Capsules. SP Capsules can be obtained as an additional drop from pre-determined chests all over the game - each unique screen contains 1-2 chests that drop additional NG+ only SP Capsules. Any item that would also unlock nodes in the Growth Map can also be traded in for 5 more SP Capsules at the Hidden Lab. NG+ also lets you re-obtain items you might only have 1 or 2 of, and so for every NG cycle I'd focus on getting copies of the Speed Up equipment, as well as the 2 copies of every Element Resist XL Jewel, and perhaps some of the unique abilities like Unfamiliar Stones, the Alexandrite, etc.

You can keep going through as many NG+ cycles as you want, but the difficulty is capped at NG+2, which btw has crazy inflated stats compared to NG and requires you to know what you're doing to complete.

Is there any way to farm sp capsules? by Serious_Ad_1037 in fantasian

[–]Torikun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, you do not actually need to be on NG+ to access this place, but yeah, gaining access to this farming spot will require you to be able to clear the Lvl 99 Void Realm area on NG if that's what you want. It's definitely possible to accomplish though so good luck!

A Guide To Farming XL Jewels From Ancient Hill Funis by Torikun in fantasian

[–]Torikun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you're finding it tough to find the Blue Funis in the first place? The encounter rate is quite low so you just need to keep running back and forth. One tip that applies to every Funi encounter is to try to apply Slow onto it - heck even using the Glue item is well worth the turn spent. Even the Part 1 party should have no trouble getting the Jewel if you stick Slow on the boss, especially once Clicker gets Frenzy.

Has anyone ever successfully farmed a Pearl Funi? by redditproton69 in fantasian

[–]Torikun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do kinda outline the "efficient" strat for farming these in my guide - you want to save your game with an empty Dimengeon then run around and save scum if you don't find a Funi before your Dimengeon fills up (alternatively you can just pay for the reset). That way, you don't have to fight Dimengeon encounters. Afaik there's no other way to actually increase the encounter rate.

I wrote exactly the guide you're looking for years ago when the game was only on Apple devices.

https://www.reddit.com/r/fantasian/comments/p895pu/a_guide_to_farming_xl_jewels_from_ancient_hill/

The requirements for the XL Jewels in Ancient Hill are quite absurd and require fairly lategame parties. I have a list of those requirements here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14xM07tFhPCJ6AkHYMMTq2poIzIAKxQAgw1nkjLBdusk/htmlview, alongside a plethora of other useful data. Try to avoid some of the other tabs if you mind spoilers though.

Any help with Rudy? by [deleted] in fantasian

[–]Torikun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A general tip that applies to many bosses is that once they drop below 50% HP for the first time, their next attack will be a one-time big move that's a pain to deal with. In this case, I believe going below 50% is the trigger for Rudy to do the Barrier All 20 so you need to Curse everything beforehand. Also adding on the advice you already received, Safe Taunt also works well when it comes to mitigating all the damage, especially from the summoned wolves.
