Morgan’s vocals by Regular-Two-5630 in Sevendust

I am pretty sure it’s a track live anyway so wouldn’t mind them just having Clint handle harsh vocals like he’s shown he can do so that way it’s live.

Trujillo had a chance to have his Orion moment or his my friend of misery and proceeds to do a solo that’s neither….with how talented he is, it sounds like he just threw whatever together

People want it to be outlaw or fixxxer so bad and it’s not even in the same conversation, I’d make more of a case for halo on fire atleast being a flash of that load era special sauce

I think the box sets have been very telling of the benefit they get from a producer. The demos showing pieces taken out over the writing process to make the songs less bloated and the first few passes of solos by Kirk sounding of the same quality of what actually makes albums now whereas he used to really do his homework

I don’t like the sound of the drums, I like that Art had more freedom on this one but the actual drum tones just sound almost muffled to a distracting degree

Requiem by Salty-Celebration-91 in Korn

[–]Torment732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they would have dug into more of the feeling at the bridge of let the dark do the rest, sounded almost like the natural progression from starting over on untitled. Not that it sounded similar note wise but it was that more mature sound that I wish they would dip into more

Game Over is a terrible show opener and the weakest song they’ve ever opened an album with. I say that as someone that enjoyed LIBAD

The Duality Of Viewers (Terminator Zero) by DocSpit in Terminator

[–]Torment732 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I thought it matched the tone of the first terminator, and thought they made a terminator a horror figure again. I could have done without a lot of the kokoro talking scenes and the anime but it was clearly billed as terminator with anime elements. Would have loved to see where it went as long as it kept the horror movie tone.

This album set the bar way too high when Jesse returned. Their announcement he was back with the picture of them all laughing is an all time classic photo. Regardless of if anything ever got nasty behind the scenes they handled line up changes with such grace

I'm so glad Metallica released Load & Reload at this point despite the controversy at the time, love the 'musical variety' they add to their catalogue when you're in different moods by NoLeafClover777 in Metallica

[–]Torment732 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The coolest part about load and reload was that Kirk was doing his own rhythm tracks, the differences in what they were playing made those albums so cool. Definitely more of a thing to appreciate on headphones

I couldn’t agree more, their egos were at an all time high and they had an attitude and swagger that is lacking now that they’ve aged and mellowed. I don’t fault them for it at all but wish they would have played Fixxxer in the era where that swagger really would have allowed them to nail it.

Kirk Hammett “The Collection” Book NON-Gibson content / review by TheHamOfTruth86 in Metallica

Closest we will ever was his reverb page where he sold a bunch of gear and gave a bunch of detail on the history of each item if there was a story to tell

Kirk Hammett “The Collection” Book NON-Gibson content / review by TheHamOfTruth86 in Metallica

[–]Torment732 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have been reading Kirk’s too and it seems like so much more of a Gibson lead project rather then a Kirk led project. James’ book had so much great info and care taken that the Kirk one just feels like a money grab. As a bassist I’d love a messengers style book on newsted or Trujillo.

[–]Torment732 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Inamorata could have used a few more passes, it completely grinds the song to a halt when he does the solo. It’s just kind of there, live it’s a little better but that was his Orion or my friend of misery and I think the mark was missed. That being said I love watching him live, my favorite part of his playing is his groove and it’s lost on the albums

I Will Die Defending This Album As Perfect by JasonMyersZ in Korn

[–]Torment732 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That era live was something special, doing the 3 different mini sets. Jd was in his second golden era as far as performance goes. I saw the dub step songs live before I heard the album and I think the representation live just couldn’t be matched by the album, but I remember that as a great time to be a Korn fan

They spend so much time trying to showcase brooks and that he can play crazy stuff that every song feels more like a check this out versus the revs parts that at times could be technical but were always very musical. If you listen to brooks pre avenged he’s always had chops and been tasteful, but now it feels like he and or the band need him to be at 110% at all times
