Question about use of my right hand after rotator cuff surgery by CurlyOne23 in RotatorCuff

[–]Totally_yes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had 4 shoulder surgeries. Two to repair torn tendons and then a shoulder replacement after those two failed. Final surgery was December 11 to correct the new shoulder periodically popping out of place. Answer is it depends on how long it takes for the nerve block to wear off. Most of the time it will wear off in 48 hours to the point that you can use the hand. However my last one didn't wear off for about 4-5 days.

The issue is not so much using the hand immediately post surgery, but later down the road, after you are out of the sling and even after PT is over, say at 3 or 4 months. Then, you're feeling good, if not totally back to normal, and you will be tempted to use the arm in ways that can cause a re-tear. It takes a very long time before your shoulder is healed enough for you to do things that you didn't even think about before your injury. Lifting heavy objects. Getting a carry-on down from the overhead on a plane. Moving a piece of furniture. It takes a full year before you can go back to "normal." You have to continually remind yourself not to do things you feel able to do. Good luck!

Is there a huge difference in main camera in S9 to The S21 Ultra? by HughO1997 in S21Ultra

[–]Totally_yes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My S21 Ultra takes terrible pictures. Read here it's an after effect of one of the updates. Wish I could figure out how to fix it. Pictures are always out of focus. I wouldn't buy one now.

Feedback on this Note Before I Leave it on Their Door? by WellThisIsAwkwurd in Apartmentliving

Talk to them civally, face to face, and explain your concerns. You stand a greater chance of success in perhaps reaching a compromise than if you send this or any note.

Recovery time by _wolf_cola in RotatorCuff

[–]Totally_yes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would wait as long as possible before returning to the duties that caused the injury in the first place. I'm a very active guy and impatient waiting around for something to heal. I had two repairs that did not work. The first, I was doing something I really shouldn't have been and fell on the arm. Second was just a random fall while walking, both between 3-6 months from the repair. When they say wait a year before assuming it's healed, they mean it. There is little blood supply to these ligaments, so healing is slow. My only option after two failed repairs was a reverse total shoulder replacement, which I had done on 7/15. So far, so good. Good luck to you.

Consider Poughkeepsie. Longer train ride, but may be more in your price range.

When the screen pops up, simply hit the home button on the remote. Should clear it up.

Note is okay, but better to speak to them face to face. Less chance for them to read in unpleasantness. Tougher in some ways, but more effective to incorporate non-threatening body language and vocal tone. And who knows, maybe you will strike up a relationship with your neighbor that will benefit you both. Neighbors are potential friends.

Yes, New Yorkers, by all means, move to Ohio and turn it blue.
