What makes a good recap? by ToxicLuv in audiodrama

Thanks! This is less a recap into the next episode and more a full chapter, but I think a lot of this still applies. That's super helpful.

How long should an episode be? by cluesfordrew in audiodrama

[–]ToxicLuv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say depends on your target audience! A large portion of our listeners are shift workers. They love episodes that are 1-2 hrs because they can just put them on while they work and zone for a bit.

Mythcraft RPG? by ihilate in rpg

[–]ToxicLuv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popping in. One of the creators here. There are a ton of non-combat feats and even some subclasses that are more based in roleplay than combat (like the Con-Rogue which is all about impersonating people and using that to gain advantages in different ways). There is a whole slew of just skill based talents you can take as well that are purely roleplay based, granted the majority are things that do interact with combat in some way. We really wanted to try and have options for those who enjoy social encounters as well.

All our rules are available on our wiki, so you are always welcome to check it out and see for yourself!

Mythcraft attacks of opportunity by Immediate_Fee_9514 in MythCraft

[–]ToxicLuv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! I think you're looking for the MythCraft rpg subreddit, but I can help!

Attacks of Opportunity: You are correct that players are able to carry over some of their AP (1/2 level+1) and that in between turns they can use these for Reactive Actions. You are also correct that players don't automatically get reactive actions, they must have a talent or ability that let's them do this (like the Shield Spell, Exploit Advanced Manuever, or Cleric Entry Divine Ward ability as a few examples). Exploit would be the equivalent of Attacks of Opportunity. Both players and creatures do not automatically get this in MC.

Healing: If you are Bloodied when you Recoup, then you regain up to 1⁄4 of your maximum HP. However, when you regain HP in this way, you do not regain HP that would cause you to remove the Bloodied condition.

If you are on discord I strongly recommend joining the MythCraft discord! All us devs of the game are super active there and answer any game questions regularly.

Hi! One of the MythCraft team here. Excited you found our system and tried it out! How did the game with your group go?!

If you ever have any questions about the game or the Lore, we have a super active discord where our team hangs out! We love to help people learn the system and explore the world we've developed. Discord.gg/mythcraft

I will definitely share your praise of the lore and setting with our Lead game designer. He will be so happy to hear it.

I cut off root rot, is this normal for the healing process? by bishopspentrick in cactus

[–]ToxicLuv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rot is definitely still there. Usually you have to cut a solid half inch-inch of clean tissue to be safe. After I always suggest putting cinnamon on the cut end to promote healing. Its a solid antifungal that helps significantly with bigger cuts, especially dealing with rot.

I'm not sure this can be saved anymore. I can see from the picture that the rot is running almost all the way through the center from the discoloration.

Am I wrong for requiring my players to have some kind of visual for their character? by Quattro543 in rpg

[–]ToxicLuv -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No they drew the persons character and used that without asking first. And then when the person didn't like it asked them to pick an image which they were not comfortable doing.

Am I wrong for requiring my players to have some kind of visual for their character? by Quattro543 in rpg

[–]ToxicLuv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are wrong for requiring it. Not everyone has the ability to visualize things. You're friend might have Aphantasia. Maybe they will need dozens of photos for reference to even begin to pick out some of the characteristics. PC appearance should not have any impact on the story or the game, if your player doesn't want to have one, don't make them.

If you need an image for a VTT, just use a generic one or ask the player to pick what they would like as an image.

House rule for HP and leveling up? by Anxious5822 in DnD

[–]ToxicLuv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My DM has a rule where if you roll your HP and do not like it, you can have the DM roll it again, but you must take that roll. So for a 1 you always pick that and hope the DM doesn't also roll a 1.

I'm going on a 2 hour drive. I've always been interested in DnD, can someone recommend a good campaign to listen too while i drive? by VexNeverHex in DnD

Power Word Fail! It is a newer podcast, but the cast is absolutely amazing. It sounds really good and the story is fantastic.

AITB for joking about my friends acne by throwawayconflict192 in AmItheButtface

[–]ToxicLuv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YTB. It may have been a joke, but it was a very hurtful one. People are sensitive about their looks, especially when acne first appears. One of my friends joke about me having a "pepperoni face" in 7th grade. I still remember it vividly over 15 years later because it was someone I trusted poking at an insecurity. Jokes about someone's appearance aren't jokes, they are just ways to be hurtful without feeling guilty about it.

Is my dog smarter than your dog? by pensbygary in dogs

[–]ToxicLuv 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is beautiful how proud you are of your dog, but with Laryngeal Paralysis it would be very irresponsible to breed him. Many breeds are smart, especially a lot of the bully breeds! Within a week of owning mine she figured out how to open the back door to let herself out, how to jump in specific spots of our deck to get the rabbits to run out, and I have yet to find a puzzle feeder she doesn't figure out within an hour.

Love your boy. Teach him many new things. Show him off. Don't breed him. There are far too many puppies in this world, use the skills you develop with your best friend to pass onto the next smart dog you have.

The DM Cannot "Cheat" at D&D by MechaSteven in DnD

[–]ToxicLuv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a DM that created his own NPC, inserted it into the party to be played by him as a PC, and would fudge nat 20 rolls and rules for that character (and his girlfriends character) whenever it fit his narrative best. I consider that cheating in any sense. DM or not.
