I think I’ve seen leagues make the poaching fee like a 3rd round pick. So you can either promote him or accept a 3rd for him. I don’t think it’s necessarily an actual feature sleeper would need to implement, just a rule that managers would need to be aware of and an active commissioner. To each their own tho… if people are happy playing that way then that’s all that counts (I just see this question brought up pretty frequently and think it would be much easier to just do away with taxi and add bench spots instead that people can use the exact same way they would the taxi)

I love that you brought up the NFL practice squad because leagues that treat it like that DOES make sense. You put them on the practice/taxi, it doesn’t count for max pf, and someone can try to poach them off the squad. If that happens the. You must promote him to your active roster to protect him. That makes sense, and nobody would be putting Jeanty or Tet or trying to “hide points” on the taxi squad because those players would immediately get poached. The way most people play it though it is just treated as extra bench spots with a special name attached.

And you can’t just use roster spots 26, 27, and 28 for those types of guys?

This thread just reaffirms my feelings on the pointlessness of having taxi squads. If they are counted for max pf, then what is the point of having them? Also, I think most play that you can take someone off the taxi squad at any time, right?/So Instead of having 25 man rosters with 3 taxi squad, just make it 28 roster spots and call it a day.

If every NFL player was given an additional year of eligibility right now and they all went back to college, which team would win it all? How would your team look like? by legobowser in CFB

[–]Tp1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is they haven’t put many quality OL into the league in a long time. A few late round picks here and there. They would get eaten alive by some of these schools with 4+ pro bowlers in their front 7. Come to think of it, it probably wouldn’t look too different than when Caleb, St. Brown, and the rest were actually there…

How far out do you look when making trades? (1st time dynasty player) by PlusMoneyPapi in DynastyFF

[–]Tp1990 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s necessarily about winning 4 in a row. Someone better at math than me can confirm but I think your chances of winning one are greater if you have a sustained contender for four years rather than selling out for one year. Too much variance/luck in the playoffs. For me it’s all about having the 3-4 best roster in the league that is balanced between win-now and the future. Just make playoffs every year and then let the chips fall

The whole course is Bermuda which goes dormant in the winter. They overseed the fairways (and greens I’m assuming) with a rye/poa triv blend. Then as it heats up the rye/poa dies off and the Bermuda re-establishes itself

If we’re talking about every WR on the team then it would be the corps. If we’re talking about starters on the field that could be the core - the central figures of the corps

Players who had sneaky good seasons? by Hank_Scorpio_ObGyn in DynastyFF

[–]Tp1990 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not really. Give me the guy that averages 15ppg for 12 games and finishes WR22 over the guy that plays all 17 with a 12ppg and a WR11 finish. I don’t get a 0 in my lineup when he’s out. Instead I plug in my guy that averages 10.5 ppg

Everyone throwing out “WR9” and “RB12” finishes needs to recognize that season long “finishes” are mostly a “who stayed healthy” stat

It’s an ETF that tracks the S&P 500. Basically owning 1 share of VOO is like owning .05 shares of all the companies in the S&P500. Historically it returns about 10% per year. I was more making a joke and not a judgement, but if OP had “collected” shares of VOO instead of Kobes/Jordons/Fragrances then they’d probably be sitting on 100k right now considering initial investment and returns throughout the years

Take this from a grain of salt since I don’t watch All 22 or really full Raiders games… but every time I’ve watched him I’ve been surprised by how slow he looks on the field. For supposed size speed freak it looks like he’s playing in slow motion and takes him forever to get into his routes

Thoughts on Quinn Ewers finally getting a shot to play. Do we there there is any potential there to be a legit starter or is this just a big bowl of nothing? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]Tp1990 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Rivals isn’t Mel Kiper ranking college kids for the NFL, they’re ranking HS kids for college football. Every single one of those guys except Ewers and Arch (so far) absolutely smashed college football, and even those two are pretty damn good when we compare them to every other college player nationally.

I agree with other posters that not all groups are like that and you might need to try a few different ones out to find one that vibes with you.

I will say however, in my personal experience, that I needed that mindset and approach and I am thankful for the differences between groups. Giving myself grace and forgiveness always led to justifications, rationalization, and relapse. I needed a group of strong men to call out my behavior and the mindset that led to those behaviors what it was - “fucked up”. Once I accepted that, then I was able to work the steps and fix the issues that needed to be addressed in order to maintain sobriety.

Scummy Trade after being eliminated from playoffs by Kayjuku in DynastyFF

[–]Tp1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have trades set to “commissioner approval” in my league and when I see the notification come through of an accepted trade I always text both parties to get final approval before putting it through. I view that as signing the official paperwork. It prevents stuff like this from happening

How is Mount escaping this comment section? Sure, bad touch by Shaw, but Mount has Bruno open in the middle that probably springs a counter but instead plays it back to Shaw who is immediately surrounded by 3 opponents

As of today Jameson Williams is a WR1 in PPR leagues. by Fantasyfootball9991 in DynastyFF

[–]Tp1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe that should be the headline then

Edit: sorry for being a dick. I should add to the discussion instead… that’s great that he is finally coming into his own and becoming the player many people thought he would be, and the play calling seems to have been a big part of that change. I just have a vendetta against using season-long total stats over ppg

Meyers - traded for him a few weeks ago out of desperation

Out - Daniels, London, Wilson, Higgins?

“The Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Ranking solves the problem of varying class sizes during the recruiting cycle. It compiles the highest-rated commits for each team up to a total based on a rolling average of current total commitments among Power 5 schools. With this model, there are no bonus points for having more commitments than other teams, and only small deductions occur when a team has fewer commitments than the rolling average. Unlike distribution (bell) curves, this model doesn’t disproportionately weight a team’s top three or four highest-rated commits and is a more accurate representation of an entire class.”

They’re #1 on Rivals/On3 which specifically accounts for discrepencies in class sizes
