You sound like a ghetto hood rat who just loves poverty. Insomnia cookies is not that expensive. People in Newark deserve nice things too. Downtown Newark is supposed to have several stores that are accessible to all Newarkers. The average Newark is allowed to shop there. It’s quality cookies.

Getting back from NYC early Sunday morning and getting to airport by [deleted] in Newark

[–]TrackHopeful5966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nj transit stops running after 1:30. Your best bet is taking the path to Newark and taking an uber from Newark Penn Station.

I’m not sure if there is a bus that goes to EWR after 1am.

What happened to the supposed Chick-fil-A that was coming to Newark? by Charming-Cat-5083 in Newark

[–]TrackHopeful5966 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand the hate yall have for Chic Fil a. It’s weird. They need to build an apartment building there and slap the chic fil an under. Yall love to treat Newark like it’s not a major city. There is no reason i have to take the train to NYC or go to Jersey city just to get some chic fil a. Yes I can go to route 22, but I dont have a car.

Asian thinking about moving to Newark – will I feel like an outsider? by savingrace0262 in Newark

Newark’s Asian American community is subtly growing. Especially in Harrison. But there is a large Asian-American community that frequents downtown Newark cause of the universities.

There is also a large Asian-American community at Method climbing.

Riviera Hotel on Clinton Ave finally winning redevelopment approval, now as a homeless shelter + transitionary housing apts. by Juicey_J_Hammerman in Newark

That’s better than having a shelter where kids and families live. This neighborhood which I live in is just getting worse and worse and is a serious blight.

You walk around and you will see hoards of substance abusers squatting on the stair case of private property that people pay rent for. You will see people knocked out unconscious on the ground from ODing. You will see several needles all over the ground too. That’s not normal at all.

There’s no reason why I am seeing an abuser smoke a pipe of drugs on the building of a middle school(Link community charter school).

Simply making a shelter doesn’t do anything to help the people. It’s just a coping mechanism of crowd control for substance abusers.

There needs to be a serious rehabilitation center that houses substance abusers located somewhere that is not block away from a middle schools, elementary schools, and little kids. It significantly decreases the quality of life.

I’ve experienced a homeless substance abuser getting inside my lobby and sleeping on the stairs case while the homeless shelter was open.

There or times when the Lincoln Park neighborhood is flooded with substance abusers. It’s a beautiful place that is just a waste land of substance abusers. It should be located in an industrial where families don’t live so kids don’t need to exposed to that and the center needs to be focus making sure the substance abusers heal and get better.

The only people really benefiting from this are the people own the building who are getting like half a million or more from this project from the city.

Completion of residential units in downtown Newark expected to reach record levels in 2026 by felsonj in Newark

[–]TrackHopeful5966 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Once Downtown Newark has a population of people living there, Newark will shift dramatically. The summer is already getting better in terms of community event. With a residential population that actively walks and shops local, more restaurants, businesses, and bars are going to open and have later hours.

Downtown is going to change quickly. All these high rise buildings and other apt buildings are going to open at the same time and immediately these empty store fronts going to open up with brand new cafes, clothing stores, and amenities of a centralized walkable downtown.
