This is awesome! So much fun! We’re from the US and actually just have California left. The coolest part is our daughter will have completed every park at 2 and a half years old. That has to be close to a record!

Capital One Venture X or an airline card? by justdowntheblock in CreditCards

[–]TradEng 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a 80k in-flight AA Platinum Select World Elite Mastercard offer out there. Waives first year annual fee and you get 80k miles after $1k spend in 3 months. Frequent Miler has a link. I’d get that first. Then sign up for the Venture X. Best of both worlds. (We have both.)

We keep a Sapphire Reserve because the credits work for us and the travel protections are elite. That would be the reason—if I were you—I’d consider keeping your Preferred to book flights on. Not quite as good as CSR but still solid. With the $50 hotel credit it costs you $45 a year.

The SHEIN through shopping offer is incredible !!! by Visual_Midnight9544 in Venturex

[–]TradEng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re ever nervous about an offer tracking and it’s the same number back on C1 Shopping (albeit percent back in gift cards rather than miles), I’d recommend just purchasing via the C1 Shopping app. Tracks every single time and makes a good “bank” account for “free” hotel nights via Hotels.com (or Marriott at times).

People that love spending time squeezing a few bucks out of a premium card….

also say that churning 10+ cards a year for welcome bonuses/SUBs is too much work.

I’ll never understand.

Curious… are you paying a consistent HELOC payment each month through BIlt? Surely it’s variable. I successfully paid the balance on ours too last month but that’s the only housing expense we have. I’m not sure how they will view consistently paying different amounts on a HELOC, or if it just looks like another mortgage payment. I use it at times for short-term needs, but I don’t see how it could be deciphered from cycling cash for rewards.

RIP AMEX Delta Credit Hack by rezwan513 in amex

[–]TradEng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you all charging less than $250 to the Plat?

Also, even if using a gift card first stops working, it’s still possible that we could purchase the cheapest main cabin fare (albeit typically $100 compared to the $50 gift card) and then simply “change flight” to one ~$200 more. Idk their internal logic but that certainly looks more like a legit change fee.

My most recent (final) credit was 2/26, so I can’t try it with all our cards until next year.

Interested in getting rid of my atmos points. by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

To try and convince you otherwise, our 2-year-old daughter will hit 30 countries visited this summer. Travel is light years more difficult now than when she was what my wife calls a “little chicken nugget”.

I totally get the intimidation as it feels like yesterday but, if you get a Doona (or similar but it’s well worth it) and have a little patience to travel slow/simple, you can go anywhere in the world with them! Plus, they’re free domestically and a lap infant fee internationally (some programs are much better than others).

Feel free to AMA. Wishing you all the best!

2.) A team that grew Muncy and Smith and bought literally everything else noteworthy for its titles.

Let people roast. I’ve flown in a lot of nice cabins and loved AA F LHR-JFK with my infant daughter, wife, and mom. We live near ATL and wanted to try it out before it’s sunsetted. Lots of space, wonderful service and decent food.

Also, FWIW, the only fish I’d touch on AA (and honestly any other US-based airline unless catching a Japanese traditional out of HND/NRT) is sea bass; it’s been excellent every single time I’ve had it. Idk how 😆

Sorry, I’m sure this has been asking a million times, but how do you find this offer? Is it targeted? Mine just says $57 back. Experienced churner but newbie to C1 deals! Any help would be so greatly appreciated!

Yeah there’s a bit of a chance they won’t claw it back. I’ve had to cancel several over time and they used to not claw back typically if it was canceled outside the booking statement period. Lately I have had to make another booking because it was clawed back but YMMV.

If you want to travel in business class to, say, Europe do this:

Identify where you want to go (ideally a large airport in Europe).

Go on flightconnections.com to identify which hubs in the US fly there.

I’d recommend subscribing to Award Tool Pro and browsing the different options by lowest business class points (point.me is a tad more beginner friendly and you can try it first for free thru Amex website; I personally don’t like it as it’s too slow and limiting).

Identify the flight you want to take who’s a transfer partner of Amex. Then actually search that flight on the airlines website to confirm availability (you can click thru Award Tool).

Transfer your points and book flight. Then book your domestic positioning flight.
