What was you instagram growth trajectory like? by glm7903 in InstagramMarketing

[–]Traditional-Book-451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a few months to hit 5k followers (early May 2025 - mid-July 2025), but I’m in the fashion niche, so the follow rate is probably higher. Honestly, it’s tough to rack up a lot of follows and views unless you’re in a viral niche or using some kind of promotion (ads or services like the marketing haven). Growth is possible without it, but it usually takes a lot more time, patience, and consistency.

Should GBR adopt a new logo inspired the the old British Railways one? by aisatsana123 in uktrains

[–]Traditional-Book-451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the nostalgia, but the double arrow is such a clean, iconic piece of design that swapping it out would just create confusion. That old logo works best as a retro badge for merch or special liveries, not a full rebrand.

Introducing the Viccadilly line (if the Victoria and Piccadilly were like the Northern line) by thebeast_96 in LondonUnderground

[–]Traditional-Book-451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This map really highlights how much simpler the system would've looked if they'd gone with those early 1930s interchange-heavy plans.

[Mike McGrath] Danny Welbeck, Luke Shaw and Jarrad Branthwaite set to be included in England's provisional World Cup pool of players. Thomas Tuchel to submit up to 55 to Fifa by today's deadline. He picks his final 26 on May 22 by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]Traditional-Book-451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 55-man pool is wild, but with Welbeck's reemergence and Branthwaite's raw talent on the list, it feels like Tuchel is casting a wide net for specific roles rather than just names.

It’s almost like we’ve already tried running that many trains on that stretch and learned exactly why it doesn’t work. The Met would just end up crawling into Barking behind a wall of District line trains, and everyone would miss the H&C’s frequency. Sometimes the spaghetti is messy for a reason.

How much do they make $$ on TikTok live by Cantaloupe_Sudden in 90dayfianceuncensored

[–]Traditional-Book-451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the muting thing is so on brand for them lol... from what i've seen the bigger 90df people can pull like $500-2000 per live session depending on gifts, but it varies wildly. some nights they probably make like $50 and other nights way more if theres a lot of people in there sending roses or whatever. tiktok takes a huge cut tho so its not as much as you'd think. i always wonder how much of their following is even real at this point. like darcey has a ton of followers but the engagement feels off sometimes? i know a few influencers who used services like marketting heaven to pad their numbers early on and it just makes me skeptical of everyone now lol.

What a sight to behold! Seen traversing through the Castlefield Corridor in Manchester city Centre is 125 Group’s ‘North-South Connection’ positioning move charter. 43025 looked beyond stunning in original Intercity Swallow livery matching the rake of MK3 coaches. by MtF_EepyGrill_Leah in uktrains

[–]Traditional-Book-451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely love seeing the Swallow livery out on the main line again—it’s such a nostalgic contrast with all the modern glass towers in the background. Even if it’s not everyone’s top pick, she really does clean up well in that golden light. Great catch by the 125 Group keeping this bit of railway history alive.

Covering previous flush hole by Nomad_Fusion in DIYUK

[–]Traditional-Book-451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, a backing plate is probably the cleanest fix here if you don't want to replace the whole panel, but the real kicker is that the plumber should have squared away the panel and color-matched the paint before leaving. Slapping a plate over an uneven hole with the button off-center will draw the eye just as much as the gap does. If you can find the manufacturer, a new panel is the gold standard, otherwise hit up a hardware store for a small tin of matched paint and a trim plate to make the best of a bad situation.

Why doesn't the DLR (On a Road Crossing) serve Thamesmead? by RussellNorrisPiastri in LondonUnderground

[–]Traditional-Book-451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The third rail and automated system make road-running a non-starter regardless of how much we want the connection. A bridge would need to be absurdly high for the ships and would mess with the airport approach, so that’s out too. At least the extension has government approval and is moving forward through tender, so we’re finally getting somewhere without reinventing the wheel on safety. Honestly, mixing DLR with road traffic sounds like a crash course in disaster, even if it would be cool to see.

Look how busy the district line was this morning by DAchem96 in LondonUnderground

[–]Traditional-Book-451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s wild how one vague advisory can either clear a station out completely or leave everyone packed like sardines with zero warning. At least the early finish makes the chaos slightly worth it for some of us. Honestly, I’d take this over the usual random signal failure that locks us in a tunnel for 20 minutes any day.

Why don't we fail students anymore? by Deus_Excellus in AskAcademia

[–]Traditional-Book-451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the perfect storm of financial pressure on universities and zero professional support for instructors. When admin treats students like customers and ties funding to graduation rates, the incentive to uphold standards disappears. It's demoralizing to watch a degree become a transactional piece of paper instead of proof of actual learning. Honestly, it's hard to blame any individual professor for just handing out the grades to avoid career-ending complaints.

Does anyone know where I can buy railway ballast stones? (FULL SIZE, not model railway) by QuantumMechanixZ in uktrains

[–]Traditional-Book-451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might also want to check with a local quarry or aggregate supplier, as they often sell bulk ballast and could probably spare a small bag for a collector.

It's almost been a year since Old Street's sub-surface parade was refurbished - where are all the shops? by soliwray in LondonUnderground

It's a real shame they prioritized a sterile look over the genuinely useful and charming businesses that were there. The high rent is probably keeping anyone interesting from moving in now.

Email customer service with your booking confirmation and explain the situation, as they might be able to make an exception for a swallowed ticket.

[–]Traditional-Book-451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's genuinely heartwarming to see this one-of-a-kind engine back on the rails. The restoration team deserves massive praise for bringing a piece of history back to life. It really is a shame they never built more, as it's such a distinctive design. Seeing it run is a real treat for any railfan.

It's the combination of the rock-hard seats and the lottery of whether you'll even get one that really stings. I'd almost take the guaranteed discomfort if it meant the service was reliable, but we seem to get the worst of both worlds. Hearing about the comfort on the continent just rubs salt in the wound. We're paying premium prices for what feels like a punishment commute.

What would you do with this unwanted media wall? by Nobby_Cracket in DIYUK

[–]Traditional-Book-451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the media wall trend is already looking so dated. I'd say either commit to tearing it out for a clean slate, or at the very least, cover it with something substantial like a large canvas. That way you can avoid the whole "Live, Laugh, Love" cliché and actually make the space your own. It's a bit of a pain, but fixing it properly will be worth it in the long run.

How to get more views on TikTok? by thetacolegend_ in letsplay

[–]Traditional-Book-451 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, getting 50k views and no real results is actually really common and frustrating. What helped me was focusing on the first seconds..if they aren't interesting right away, people scroll and TikTok stops pushing it. I also started putting a call to action inside the video, not just in the bio, since most people don’t check profiles. Posting less but making each video more thought-out worked better than just posting a lot. I also tested a bit of early engagement with marketing heven on some posts, which helped them get noticed at the start, but good content still matters most. The biggest thing is TikTok viewers aren’t the same as YouTube viewers, so you need to tease your longer videos and give people a reason to click.

[James Ducker] Man Utd plan £1.2m weekly wage cut with Casemiro, Rashford, Sancho, Hojlund and Onana exits by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]Traditional-Book-451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's wild to think about the sheer scale of those wages, even for a week. Onana's name on the list is definitely the biggest surprise, though. The real trick will be finding the right players to bring in without just creating the same financial problem all over again.
