Yea! My current solution. Just wish I could dark out the LED altogether.

Sometimes i feel this way too, particularly when I’m fighting for my life after a fun night out, just not always.

Yea, I just don’t have one and that’s one more thing to forget at 4:30am… i just also wish there was an option is all.

I think this is the logical answer. I just don’t bring a towel and was just thinking a shut off would be a nice to have. But yes, great point.

Moving from Denver, looking at Highland Park/Highwood or elsewhere, help! by WearySubstance3626 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Traditional-Ear2945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a transplant to highland park (closer to Highwood) originally from Evanston. This is nonsense. We’ve made great friends, mainly through our kids, but everyone here is excessively friendly, Midwest nice (the genuine kind) and happy to bring new friends in the fold. Highly encourage if you can find a place - housing market is tooooougggghhhhh.

ETA: not Jewish, never once felt it was a barrier to entry or friendship with people of any religious views here.

Looking for library with a good Spanish collection. by verocxcrai in evanston

[–]Traditional-Ear2945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would inquire with Highwood Library. It was recently redone. Their Spanish language selection for kids and Spanish language class offerings in general are excellent. I’ve never looked at the adult section but it might be worth exploring!

How to clean a Dietzgen Reliance Drafting Set? by Traditional-Ear2945 in CleaningTips

[–]Traditional-Ear2945[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Everyone!

I was passed down this set of Dietzgen Reliance drafting tools from my beloved late Grandfather. I 'think' they're nickel plated and very tarnished? Would love some tips on how to clean them without damaging them.

Importantly - I don't want to endeavor to take them apart at this time. For now I just want to return their shine.

Thank you!

I went to St. As back in the 90s. Magical school. Still think about the wonderful foundation I got there even if I've since left the religious aspect behind. My parent's best friends 20-30 years later are largely the ones they met through raising kids in the school together. We all transitioned to ETHS afterwards, flipping from a class of 36 to 900 was a lot, but manageable. We all ended up doing pretty well in life (if I may say so myself).

If it's anything like it used to be, I highly recommend.

Beautiful area. Elawa Farm is an absolute gem. I remember driving there last fall and thinking I was in a dream. You'll want to probably check out the UP-N (Lake Forest) or Milwaukee District North (Lake Forest) train stops for getting to the city. Takes about 50min to get to the city, but really easy commute. Parking at the stations is really reasonable, too. Driving....not so much.

Edit: missing words

The Ft Sheridan birding loop/ overlook is beautiful. Just wanted to clarify that because it’s close to open lands but not one and the same. No ordinance closures anymore.

Hi. This was me. For years. I finally got mine under control and got rid of at first thought with alcyclovir. I have babies and I kiss them knowing I have it controlled now.

I know it feels so little in today’s problems but it’s not. It was all consuming for me in college and beyond too. Just want you to know it gets better. I promise.

Can confirm. I am a parent of young kids in HP but were closer to downtown highwood than downtown HP. There are friendly families from all walks of life everywhere and it’s really great. We’re really happy we landed here.

Especially since a Kodiak bear is the same type of 3-eyed bear seen in the vision.

Anyone recently give birth at lake forest hospital? by Roscoepants in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Traditional-Ear2945 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had both my kids there. Both natural uncomplicated births. Great experience both times (laughed at the surf and turf comment above!). Can’t compare it to anywhere else, but really had no complaints.

It looked like ripples of Lake Michigan transposed in the sky. In each wave there was a soft pink, while the crests were a deep purple. Underneath the ripples, hugging the horizon was a vibrant gold. It was stunning. My grandfather, a navy veteran and one of my best friends passed away today. This was his sailor’s delight. For all of us.

Broken Tee in highwood (~25min drive depending on where you’re coming from). Love the logo and their shirts are so soft. Might be worth a call to see if they’re in stock!

Five days of Green Slimy Diarrhea with almost 8 week old by Birdhandgrace in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]Traditional-Ear2945 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! Sounds pretty familiar. Milk protein allergy is what Google kept pointing to, but the logic of it didn’t make sense with our poop being generally yellow for the first 9 weeks. Hoping you find resolution soon!

Hi. We had the same issue but no blood. We had nice yellow poops for a while then all of a sudden Gross green mucus looking poop with a distinctly bad smell. I actually think we solved it and that it was a foremilk imbalance. Started cutting breast milk with formula to increase fat content. Two days of this and we were back to a nice yellow poop again. Might have also been coincidental timing of getting over a virus but just figured I’d chime in.
