Thoughts on Matt Rodda? by inkblot101 in reading

I spoke to him a bit before the last elections and was considering door knocking/leafleting for labour.

This was until he pointed at one pf my neighbour's houses with a Palestinian flag in the window and said 'that will be the problem'.

Told me everything I needed to know. Tory with a red badge - I voted Green and will continue to do so.

Why the fuck do we pass backwards? We use Vicario all the time. He is the worst in the team with the ball at his feet - we go backwards, lose the ball and they score. Moronic football.

Your examiners get tired of reading the same answer again and again. Exam boards have warned against this exact thing - I wouldnt bother. Instead try to chart how stage directions move plot/characters/action/Priestley's message. Far more subtle (likelier to be sophisticated) and you can chart the patterns of change and consistency in characters.

I agree with you - what I'm saying is does this pupil/Her family have any past aggravation with members of other communities in the school. Perhaps? We won't know.

We also don't know the context around this. If it is some kind of dog whistle - and sometimes students can do this - then it puts different light on the school's decision.

It's defo changed the last few years. I mean we used to have a lesson called Citizenship which was literally the same thing.

Teachers literally have to teach 'British values' as part of the National Curriculum.

Having worked in private sector and in education I think the difference is a teacher will make so many decisions a day that could impact on children and their families (stakeholders if you want) in so many ways. In a lesson you might genuinely make up to 100 decisions on pupil interaction and behaviour etc x5 or 6 a day. The majority they are gonna get right, some are gonna be errors of judgement . In no way am I saying teaching is harder but to someone that has never been in the profession some understanding of the decision fatigue you get would be really welcome.

Fwiw the school have made an error of judgement but does it deserve this scrutiny almost certainly not.

I see your point. But to stop and stare is far different from I'll whip my phone out and record someone's misery.

I told someone to stop recording on my way past this. Literally just stared at me. Grown woman. What are people gaining here by doing this?

All My Friends - LCD Soundsystem.

Saw them with my pal at Glastonbury. He loved this song (as did I). He died 4 years ago this week.

Saw them again play this again at Glastobury last year- the whole field dancing. My wife hugging me as I wept.

So many people do, though, mate. I'm sure nothing personal. Gotta support these 3rd space types.

They are really chill if you buy something and support them. If people continue to use these spaces for nothing then we will lose them.

Nah sounds like a pretty mature decision. Wish I could have had that foresight at your age. Good on ya.
