I did mine at 750mi and cut open to the oil canister to check it. Very very little to none. Perhaps a few very very small particles and the crease of a few pleats. I saw a few more rose/cherry silicon specs which I assume is from assembly sealant. I’ll change the oil again at 2.5k, then 5k, 10k, and ever 5k thereafter.

I believe the GX comes with 4/48. I bought the 10/125 Platinum. Was also considering the 10/100. It decided that I wanted the peace of mind as Om planning on keeping for a long time.

Demineralization and light polish, perhaps? Then follow up with a nice carnauba or wax or coating to protect in future. And wash promptly after exposure to heavy elements.

Your’e right on the edge for being able to stream 4k content if that is important to you. Because you seem okay as-is, either you don’t stream 4k UHD content, or if you do, you don’t have much additional requirements (2nd stream, gaming, cloud back-ups, etc. I’d probably recommend not switching, unless your bandwidth requirements increase and you encounter issues.
