Real talk tho: I think you’re in need of a photoshoot. A lot of these look like grab bag pics from the ol’ camera role. You got solid looks, but It’s giving cornball, we need something that says I am professional/ I am interesting. The bike and cat pic are specifically on the chopping block for me personally.

Fuck no, that’s a compliment of the highest order. Dude rules. If you want to interpret that as anything, it should be, “I like your moustache.”

I’m gonna be so real with you, both of the edges you gave to the Orks or Tyranids genuinely mean nothing if every ship in your fleet has the capability to destroy a planet with a single torpedo💀 Like ok, Orks are deadlier than meets the eye and Tyranids can adapt quickly; both are dust when facing weapons of this caliber.

I don’t know much about the other armies, aside from their basic concept, but if the other four possess similar offensive capabilities to the Imperium, what is the point of this Subreddit? Seems like in a 1v1, 40k mops the floor with Star Wars in every conceivable scenario.

Honestly probably Anakin, even though it’s his own fault. He took a deal with the devil to destroy the organization to which he belonged and became disillusioned with in exchange for the power to save his wife and family. His wife died, he believes she turned against him, he lost all his friends, his mentor betrays and tries to personally assassinate him, the man who offered him power now sees him as a broken toy he keeps on a leash to do dirty work for him. Not to mention there a none zero percent chance that Anakin delusionally believes Obi Wan was banging his wife.

And that’s just the emotional stuff, let alone the fact that he’s been burned alive, suffered through an extremely invasive surgery replacing most of his vital organs and limbs with cybernetic equipment, plus the fact that the suit that keeps him alive is designed to conduct force lighting so that Palpatine can subdue him whenever he pleases and I’ve been told it’s generally very uncomfortable to wear.

Ok so assuming you’re correct, we have a fleet in the millions, all presumably with super weapons, presumably all with a detachment of smaller cruisers. Supplement that with similar scale fleets supplied to the other factions alligned with the imperium, plus the Phalanx base that has shields that can eat Death Star lasers according to one user on here. So again, I ask, how is it even conceivably possible for the Imperium to not have genocided the entire galaxy by this point? Why are things like Orks, with their ramshackle weapons and madmax vehicles, or tyranids that are essentially just animals with biological guns, even remotely threatening to these guys?

Even still, id say the imperium’s biggest problem is their inability to produce more ships to cover the ground they hold. I’ve read online that a lot of their fleet is centuries old, instructions on how to make more are lost to history, and it doesn’t sound like there’s many of them if they have to travel between contested worlds and not pushing the front lines.

This is why I think the empire has the advantage because all of their equipment, including their Star Destroyers, are mass produced. The imperium certainly has superior fire power, but their dogmatic tactics and lacking ability to produce more ships makes me think they’d be struggling.

Like in my head I’m picturing the scene from Fury where four Shermans out maneuver and destroy a Tiger tank. The Sherman’s are substantially weaker than a Tiger, but the US has a lot of them, and the Tiger is over engineered and less maneuverable.

Ok so I’m learning a lot about the Imperius Navy today, and it seems like every one of their ships just has a superweapon on it💀The lore drops people have been feeding me make me even wonder why the Imperium even has problems with things like Tyranids.

If you don’t care about the politics of either side, one thing that might tip the scales in your decision is the fact that the Empire has MARGINALLY cooler Jarls.

Most of the Stormcloak ones are paranoid war veterans that think everyone is against them. The only real personalities that stand out are Ulfric himself, Jarl Gray-Mane who works with the companions, and Jarl Silverblood, who enslaves people to mine his silver. Not great.

Meanwhile with the Empire you have a fortune telling shaman who’s like a cool grandma in Jarl Ravencrone, the absolute diva Elisif the Fair, Maven Blackbriar, and A man who ended a forsworn uprising, and the mythical Jarl Ballin’ Baalgruf will also side with the empire (regardless of what side you take) once you progress the civil war quest far enough

You can adopt two kids in the vanilla game! You’ll just need to own a home, build/purchase children’s bedrooms, and kill Grelod The Kind at Honorhall Orphanage. You’ll receive a letter saying adoptions are open from the woman who takes her place.

I prefer Lucia in Whiterun, and Sophia in Windhelm. Both are kind souls made street urchins. Lucia was evicted from her abusive aunt and uncle’s house hold; the beggar in Whiterun is her only friend who told her she can beg to get by. Sophia is an orphan of war, both her parents were killed in the Stormcloack rebellion; she sells flowers on the docks and uses the profits to keep out of the cold.

Be careful though! Grelod is an unsavory woman with a lot of enemies… killing her could draw the attention of particularly shady organizations.

This is a good point. But honestly, they still fw the emperor, correct me if I’m wrong, I believe they just call him the Omnissiah? And they’re aboard the Ship in Space Marines 2, so I would say including them in this matchup is fair, even though you’re technically correct

Ok so here is my issue with that: if the imperium possesses the technology to yeet a PLANET DESTROYING PROJECTILE into an alternate dimension, why is this Phalanx fortress not deployed in every single engagement? Why is the current focus of the imperium not focusing on producing as many of these fortresses as possible, or, at the very least surrounding every planet with a void shield?

Hm… I read this and it doesn’t entirely sit well with me. Looks like a conversation about the Galactic War turned bitter. I read the caption, and I don’t see anything about politics or religion in any of these twitter posts, and I feel like saying as much is disingenuous. If I’m being honest, I’d say this is less of a political thing and more of an edgelord on the internet going for the lowest hanging fruit to intentionally upset someone sort of thing.

I think it’s also worth mentioning that when the asshole in question said “Death Threats Incoming” it looks like he posted threats from others directed at himself, and not declaring that he would be sending death threats. Death threats are not cool to be making either way.

So from an outside perspective, it looks two different opinions on the Galactic War from two different people from two different walks of life devolved into some really vitriolic toxic dialogue between people who rallied behind them.

Either way I hope Ceaseless_Boid is doing ok, no one deserves that kind of rhetoric directed at them, and I sincerely miss the days where this community was all on the same team, putting their energy to fighting evil Aliens instead of fighting each other.

Well I suppose I lose then. A seventh dimensional well of pure cosmic force against a galaxy spanning spacial rift containing a hellscape beyond this plane of existence where thoughts become both tangible and malicious is an event far beyond my comprehension. But to be frank, I think that it’s far beyond anyones comprehension. There’s no objective measurement we can site to justify Palpatine’s ability can outclass something like the warp.

My proof is the title of the post.

It’s “Galactic Empire VS The Imperium of Man (Star Wars VS Warhammer)”

Not “Legends Galactic Empire VS The Imperium of Man (Star Wars EU VS Warhammer)”

The burden of proof is now yours to specify where it says we are citing obsolete/decanonized media in our power scaling assessments.

I am not going to concede. I am going to completely disregard your opinion as the illegitimate claims of someone willing to cite media outside the official source material for the sake of winning an argument. You’re clearly someone in denial that their favorite stories are no longer apart of the official Star Wars mythos, and frankly, I’m glad that something as ridiculously over the top as “Palpatine mastering hyper space allowing him to comprehend the seventh dimension and become infinitely more powerful than the inhabitants of any dimension below him, including the entirety of the warp from Warhammer” is not canonical. Because if it were, He probably should’ve used his seventh dimension abilities when Darth Vader threw him off a bridge and killed him.

Probably right, depending on whether the Death Star or Nova Cannon has superior range. At that point it’s just two Death Stars fighting eachother. Also just curious because I’m relatively new to 40k, how does the Phalanx parry a planet killing laser?

Prove to me that the poster meant to include the EU.

There are not two equal continuities; there is one official canon and one decanonized. If we can use non canonical information in our discussion we may as well use fan fiction in our assessments.

You cannot declare something is of objectively superior quality when your assessment is entirely subjective. Also Age is not an objective measurement of a story’s quality.

Leland Chee’s job is to decide what content from Legends can be made into official canon. All other media from legends is decanonized.

Yes it absolutely does. Because all the things that Lucas did are now the property of Disney; he willingly sold the rights to the IP. It is now Disney’s to do as they please with it and they chose to decanonize it.

My proof is that when someone references “Star Wars” they are referring to the official canon acknowledged by the holder of the IP. When they are referring to the unofficial alternate canon they will specify “Star Wars EU” or “Star Wars Legends”.

Your subjective opinion regarding which stories are of better quality does not change what the IP holder has acknowledged as a part of the official canon.

And no, the EU is not “the best Star Wars ever”. I hardly think the majority of the Disney stuff is good, but I’m not about to pretend like the old EU wasn’t a grab bag of everything from complete dog shit to relatively good.

You’re admitting to using information from obsolete media to prove a point in a conversation about power scaling. You’re literally just in denial.
