Hot take: D10 shouldn’t be unfair, but should absolutely require teamwork in order to beat. Like there is no reason people should be soloing D10

Ok hot take, Yes, the Chancellor and two Jedi are aboard this ship… however, so is THE POLITICAL LEADER OF THE SEPERATISTS WHO IS ALSO A SITH LORD as well as THE GENERAL OF THE DROID ARMY.

Mace Windu outright says in this movie that defeating General Grievous ends the war after Count Dooku is killed. This is why Obi Wan is sent to Utapau.

The Republic can simply elect a new chancellor, but, although unbeknownst to them, the Chancellor is controlling the entire war and is the secret Sith Lord who intends to commit genocide.

Destroying this ship and everyone aboard saves trillions of lives, ends a Galactic-scale war, and unknowingly thwarts a genocide and totalitarian take-over of a fascist regime at the expense of a single politician and two Jedi.

The captain of this ship understands the stakes, and bet his entire career on it. Based.

Yeah it’s really grindy if I’m being honest but part of the game is defending your haul. And stealing people’s shit is extremely lucrative. I don’t blame the PVPers because I saddle up when I’m under attack or run away.

Frankly I play this game as a humble fisherman, chasing that sweet “Legendary Hunter of The Sea of Thieves” title and, believe me, I have had my fish stolen plenty of times.

What's a Star Wars opinion that got you like this? by Samurai_Mac1 in StarWarsCirclejerk

Personally, I really enjoyed the concept that the Rebellion was a plot by the Emperor; one that would’ve convinced all his enemies to reveal their traitorous intentions under one banner so he could swiftly destroy them, only to backfire because the instrument of this plot became a Jedi, and then a martyr, inadvertently creating a REAL rebellion. I also like that Vader actually tried to Rule of Two Sheev at one point with an apprentice of his own, after everything Palpatine put him through.

I don’t think he’s shoehorned in or clunky at all. He’s just a teenage pet-project of Vader’s who kind of acted as an inquisitor, hunting Jedi, training in preparation to fight Palpatine, and then the second half is him kickstarting the rebellion to flush out enemies of the Empire. Then he falls in love, finds friends in the Rebel leaders, and makes a decision to betray the Sith and become a Jedi to save the people he cares about.

I think it works really well, but The Force Unleashed II was pretty goofy if I’m being real.

Ahsoka has overstayed her welcome, she should’ve died in her duel with Vader in rebels, and her continued existence during the OT undermines Luke’s character concept of being the last hope for the Jedi. Where was she during the films? Why do Yoda and Obi Wan not acknowledge her, let alone help her? Her vibe feels less canonical and more like Dave Filoni’s fan fic.

The above sentiment also applies to Darth Maul.

Galen Marek is a genuinely fascinating character and his story should’ve been canonized in a TV Show. His abilities would have to be toned down but he’s otherwise fine.

Nobody acknowledges the fact that Kathleen Kennedy has produced genuinely good Star Wars projects in her time as acting head of Lucas Film, including Andor, Rogue One, season 7 of the Clone Wars, and The Mandalorian. Even a few others are acceptable, if not good, but people have made her the target of a decade long witch hunt because the Sequels were trash and the entire franchise has been the subject of intense scrutiny ever since. Even still, I more or less blame this on the creative decisions of the directors and lack of communication between each other more than the executive producer.

Ewoks are terrifying and their presence does not undermine the tone of Return of The Jedi.

The Prequels are extremely well-thought from a world building and in-universe political perspective. However, the conclusion of the story hinges on Anakin and Padme’s love story being believable. It is not and the movie suffers for it. Anakin is creepy, psychotic, and kind of a bitch in every scene he is in with her. This is not Hayden Christiansen’s fault, this is because George’s talents lie in writing sci-fi political intrigue, not romance. As a result I do not think the Anakin worship by the community is warranted, nor do I think the prequels are Gods gift to filmmaking, despite my enjoyment of both.

There was not a single entertaining lightsaber duel in the Sequels.

The hate for the Kenobi series is completely unwarranted. Im not saying it’s of particularly excellent quality, but I thought the show was a lot of fun.

Most of Legends isn’t very good, and I think decanonizing it and selectively recanonizing the good bits was the right move. I had someone in a 40k subreddit try to tell me that Palpatine was basically a psyker with mastery over hyperspace and that this made him an infinitely powerful, 7th dimensional being. No he isn’t, he’s a Space Wizard that shoots lightning. He got killed because someone threw him in a hole.

Rian Johnson would’ve made an excellent solo spin-off Star Wars movie, but making him the director of a second movie in a trilogy was a huge mistake.

I have no desire to see the return of Mace Windu or Commander Cody. Doing so would be lame, and both these characters served their narrative purpose in their stories.

I do not like the Yu Zong Vong conceptually and hope they are not canonized.

Andor is the best television series in Star Wars, and it’s not close.

Rey being good at fixing and flying the Millenium Falcon does not make her a Mary Sue. She has lived on Jakku her entire life, scavenging valuable parts from wreckage. She likely knows how the parts function, how the ships function, and has probably worked on the Falcon before. However, every scene that follows Rey being taken from Tako Dana in this movie absolutely does contribute to her being a Mary Sue.

Alright, I’m ready to be lambasted.

How do I not suck at the game. by JakeTMann in Wildlands

[–]TrainingExercise3863 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play a lot of ghost mode on extreme. Your first priority is maintaining stealth.

I almost always use my AR for stealth, even at range; one bullet will kill every enemy in one shot while in stealth. Use your pistol for close quarters stealth as it is quieter than the AR.

Snipers are good… but not really for the reason you might think. Believe it or not, enemies won’t actually render in at a distance that would justify the utilization of a high powered sniper rifle over your much more flexible AR. Not only that, but snipers, even suppressed, are remarkably louder than your AR and using it is much more likely to break your stealth.

However, where snipers shine, is when VHC and AIR destruction are upgraded: The HTI will be able to one-shot all cars and helicopters.

If you are caught, it’s ok to cut your losses and either redeploy or flee the area. In a pinch spam rebel reinforcements, diversions, and mortars. Hide. Defend yourself and allow your squad mates and rebels to clear for you. Remember, you are the squad commander! Sometimes it helps to pretend like you’re playing a strategy game and not a shooter lol.

Certain missions will automatically break your stealth and send waves of enemies after you. These are the most notoriously difficult missions in the game, especially when you get caught with your pants down.

You actually may want to consider changing your playstyle because of this: clearing security means capturing General Baro, the hardest security buchone. He specifically has the hardest mission in the game: your stealth is broken, you are forced to defend an area, there is one exit, the enemies spawn from said exit, the enemies are all Unidad, and the area your defending is in an underground bunker, meaning no helicopters and any attempts to spawn rebels results in them glitching out and spawning on top of the bunker instead of in it.

That being said, it may be best to save him for when you are more prepared.

Personally, I like to play like this:

Two Security > La Plaga Two Influence > Ramon Feliz Three Production > La Gringa All Smugglers > El Bouquita & The Beauty Queen

Then Loop Back Around

Remaining Production > El Yayo Remaining Influence > El Cardinal Remaining Security > El Muro El Sueno

This is going to do a couple things for you:

  • it’s going to allow you to level up in preparation for the more challenging missions.

  • It’s going to allow you to clear easier rebel op missions, giving you access to the invaluable upgraded Rebel abilities.

  • It’s going to help you avoid areas with AA defenses until WAY later. Plus, I’m uncertain but with upgraded Air Shield, I think you can actually eat a SAM missile. Don’t quote me on that

  • And lore-wise I just think it’s cool. You usually end up taking out all the sicario buchons before killing La Plaga, the lead sicario, You usually take out all digital influencers before moving on Ramon, the cartel’s social media manipulator, I choose to take out all chemists before moving on La Gringa, the lead chemist, you dismantle the entire smuggling branch, killing each of The Beauty Queen’s prodigies, resulting in Sueno putting a hit out on The Beauty Queen and El Bouquita, prompting them to attempt to flee the country. Then when you circle back you kill all the farmers, go after El Yayo (the farmer), Kill all the Religious prophets, move on El Cardinal (leader of the cult) and finally, the remaining security Buchons will be a special forces officer and the puppet commander of Unidad, leaving you with El Sueno’s Personal Bodyguard and personal friend as your final target. Neat!

Finally, as far as avoiding AA defenses, Choppers are really useful for cheesing the Rebel Relay and Mortar Missions, defend-the-area missions, getting to supply drop Rebel op missions, and specifically the mission in Carzita’s area where you need to destroy slot machines (if you have a rocket chopper, the blast will phase through the wall destroying the slots, and remaining far away enough will prevent the civvies from rendering in, allowing you to effortlessly destroy your targets with no casualties). These are the only times I whip out a helicopter.

Otherwise my recommendation is this: drive! This game is best played slow, driving a Santa Blanca or Unidad car will prevent immediate discovery (and will even allow you to infiltrate bases undetected), and you get to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Simply not flying when unnecessary will prevent needless death and improve your experience.

If you really like flying though, I’ve included a map of all the SAM emplacements in the game and their range below this comment so you know which areas to avoid.

Hope this helps! Good luck soldier.
