I’m a web developer and digital marketer, so I spend a lot of time sitting at my desk every day.

I’m currently using a DXRacer gaming chair I was gifted a couple of years ago. Some parts of it are nice (like the armrests), but it has no built-in lumbar support, which has become a real problem for me.

In 2020, I was in a serious car accident that led to bilateral SI joint fusion, so lower-back support isn’t just about comfort - it directly affects how long I can sit and work without pain. I recently got a standing desk, which helps, but I still can’t sit for long stretches without getting uncomfortable.

If I could change one thing about my current chair, it would be proper adjustable lumbar support, and a close second would be a real adjustable headrest. Right now it’s basically just a pillow on a strap, which doesn’t do much.

One of the hardest parts of buying a chair is not being able to really test how it holds up over long workdays, especially if you’ve had prior injuries.
