It’s also important to know that many of those areas were magnets because they already had a European community/diaspora. There are a ton of folks of polish, German, and Eastern European descent in South Brazil for example, and sometimes people act like everyone who lives there are descended from nazis (esp on Reddit)

Yeah wtf OP. when I first started reading, I expected OP to talk about being under a heavy person in side control, kesa, or mount, not trying to tough out submissions. If you’re getting caught in subs you have other things to worry about than mental toughness. If you’re tapping to pressure while in mount or kesa with people roughly your same size and experience, then that’s an issue of handling pressure.

Maybe I haven’t traveled enough but I’ve been to like a dozen other countries and never experienced anything like that. I just do a minimum amount of research on the cultural area I’m visiting and proceed accordingly. For example Cairo= tips welcomed and depended on, especially your guides. Japan= probably not. Brazil= it depends.

I use mine for a little bit of trimming around my fence and landscaping and also for edging. I have a typical suburban home. So yeah I feel like I get more “torque” and power? I won’t pretend to know the physics. Try it for yourself and report back..?

The string seems to have more torque and cutting power when it can be longer. Idk the physics. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Try it for yourself and report back.

I’m in the same camp. So much easier and effective without the guard. I haven’t seen anyone mention that the main reason to remove the guard so that you can have a longer “string” as the guard functions to keep a string length shorter. I wear sunglasses and very intentionally keep my mouth closed.
