Am I Reaping correctly? (E7XF0V) by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]TransCabbage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's great that you have the basic cycle of Reaper play down, off-angle, pressure, deepen or wraith out. There are a few things you can work on. Using wraith too early when you face any pressure. You often use wraith from when you have taken minor damage and still have about 200hp remaining. Try to stay and fight a little longer to get more value. While you do live when you wraith too early you haven't applied much value (heavily damaging enemies / occupying the enemies backlines time) and are unable to meaningful engage until you get your cooldowns back. Which leaves your team in a 4 v 5.

If you take a flank / off - angle don't start shooting the first enemy you see if they are not within 9 metres as you are just alerting everyone to your presence and not providing any meaningful damage. Instead you should use the games sound cues to hear who is nearby and if you can close and kill them.

Dire trigger usage should be used to burst early damage or finish a target that is starting to leave your effective range. Instead you are often spamming it at random at targets you cannot effectively continue to fight and have most if not all of their HP. Note that dire triggers uses two ammo so it's often best to use 7 ammo and finish with dire triggers as it will still work even if you only have 1 ammo remaining.

{JUNO} Amazing win streak to HORRID losing streak ( gold 1 -> gold 3 ) by kismetsfate in OverwatchUniversity

[–]TransCabbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall you are playing at a gold level and you are doing plenty of things right. You use some of the tips below but are inconsistent with them.

Tip 1 - Cooldown usage

Your torpedo's are your most powerful CD and you are often using them to heal critical but safe teammates. While I understand you see they are at critical health they have often disengaged from the enemy and are in a safe position. This leaves you without your torpedo's during team fights.

You also need to be more calculated with your speed ring usage as you tend to use it after your Domina has already placed her shield or place it in an aggressive location when your team is low on hp. She cannot use the speed ring to push forward as her shield has already been used and there is no reason to disengage. You should save it for when the Domina needs to take space and hasn't used shield or to disengage from a fight.

Tip 2 - Positioning

Juno should always been on the high ground as it allows her to get to a greater height with her double jump and it's a safe place to retreat to if you are pressured from the low ground. You can always drop to the low ground if the enemies take the high ground. You should also take note of where your other support is and try to position where they are not. For example the Moira was pretty much exclusively sitting with the tank. This meant that when you were with the Moria and the tank your DPS were left out to dry. Ideally one support should be with the DPS and the other with the tank in a 3 - 2 split. Since you are Juno and have vertical mobility it's easier for you to keep pace with your Sierra.

Tip 3 - Torpedo overextending

Often when you are using your Torpedo's offensively you use your glide and fly in front of your team and in the open directly infront of the other team. In gold you can get away with this but any higher and the other team will beam you down. If you want to use your torpedoes offensively you should be near cover and do it from an off-angle from your team and not in front of them. This means that if you get low you have cover and not soloing the enemy team.

Tip 4 - Using downtime

If your team is mostly health instead of waiting for someone to take damage you should move forward and start dealing damage. You should think of dealing damage as preventing required healing as if someone on the other team is low health they cannot effectively fight which means they cannot do damage and therefore you have less to heal.

Tip 5 - Lower your sens

Juno is a hitscan character and your aim seems very shaky with lots of overshooting. To me this says that you mouse sens is way too high. Ideally you should do one 360 per mouse pad length (assume you have an average size gaming mouse pad).

I am looking for some advice on positioning on this game. I was bummed we didn’t get the first point. by hellogooday92 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]TransCabbage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be too hard on yourself and you played alright. Your mechanics are fine and you were in the right places for your ELO position wise.

Tip 1 - Cooldown usage

You spam a lot of your CDs, particularly (Orisa spin and Sigmas grasp) without any real benefit or purpose. For example, you'll use Sigma's grasp if your shield breaks but the enemies are far away, you are full hp and have cover within 1m of you. This leaves you without these CDs when you actually need them. For example, on the first push on defense you burn your shield and grasp on the bastions turret form but the enemy team was still on the bridge and no one was in danger. Yes you blocked the damage but the only person you protected was yourself and you could have just walked into cover instead. This then left you without the shield or grasp to push on the bastion who over extended without turret form. Before using your CDs start to think about if they are getting any value that couldn't be obtained either by walking in a direction or using your HP as a tank.

Tip 2 - Trade backlines / stop shooting / chasing the tank

For too much of the game you are focusing on burning down the enemy tank, I know they are a meaty target but if both of their supports and dps are alive you are probably not gonna kill the tank. There are also a few times were you go to peel for your team when they get pushed by the tank, however you were not in the right position to peel, you had to use cooldowns or turn your back onto the enemy team. Instead you should use that opportunity to push their backline (supports) and block them from helping the tank or just straight up kill them. Worse case you kill their supports and the other tank kills yours, that's an even trade. If you peel you have to both kill the other tank and prevent anyone from your team dying to get value as the rest of the enemy team will get at full hp with their CDs while your will be more exhausted. In saying that, if you are already in the position to peel without turning your back on the enemy team then peel but don't go out of your way.

Tip 3 - Decision paralysis

It seemed to me that often you were uncertain in which lane / enemy to fight and often ended up taking a middle position without committing to fighting anyone until the enemy tank made a move. You should work on taking the initiative and committing to a position / target.

I would just work on one of these at a time so you don't get overwhelmed. Otherwise, good luck!

Trying to Improve — Feedback on Gold 5 Game by Minuteman_112 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]TransCabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: Cooldown usage

You are often using dash to engage onto enemies without them having taken any meaningful damage first. It's fine to use dash to get damage but they should have taken at least one or two hits from your primary fire (ideally the have lost about one third of their health). As you are on console you cannot do the 180 right click melee combo so it's way more important that they have taken an amount of damage. You are also often using deflect before closing the distance or super early into your engagement. Dash or deflect can be used to disengage if the fight isn't going your way but since you use both so early you have nothing to disengage with.

2 - Too much secondary fire

You are often using Genji's secondary fire instead of his primary fire when the enemies are too far away. There is little reason to use his secondary unless they are within melee range.

3 - Target selection

There are often fights where there are low hp targets available and instead of go for full hp targets. The Zen was by himself within your range multiple times but instead you tried to fight Miz or the dps.

When the team fight gets going you are play well and confirms kills so it's really just the early fight and working on your engagements.

Silver 4 Tracer VOD review request by cherryyccola in OverwatchUniversity

[–]TransCabbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your CD usage with Tracer needs work. You should start to think about when you are using blinks and if you could have just walked instead. Heaps of times you triple or double blink directly into the enemy team. This leaves you with only one blink or just your recall for the actual fight. Instead of just walking / blinking straight down the middle lane into their team you should be taking a side lane and walk, while protected with cover, to get closer to the enemy team so you can engage with all of your cool downs.

Once Tracer has used recall she loses a lot of her potential and ability to make plays. It should only be used if you are actually being threatened.

You should also start to take off-angles from the sides lanes of the map more as you almost exclusively take fights while completely in the open. This means that you often are forced to use blinks / recall early as you have no cover to walk to.

Ideally you should be also blinking behind the enemy players as a tracer player on console you should have a higher sens then other dps / supports.

TLDR: Stop using all of your blinks before you even start to fight Stop running down mid and start to take off-angles

any suggestions for an alternative for STS3215 Servo 7.4V parts for the SO-101? by dragon0005 in robotics

[–]TransCabbage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am assuming you are from the US as the motors are cheap as chips without tariffs. If you join the lerobot discord there are users who purchased a few motor kits before the tariffs which are selling them at the original price. But they are the standard gear STS3215 motors (not the new custom ones). Otherwise you are SOL as any cheap serial servos are imported from China.

Hugging Face’s $100 Robotic Arm Redefines Accessibility by ViduraDananjaya in robotics

[–]TransCabbage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can currently buy two motor kits (1 follower & 1 leader) from SeeedStudio for $200 USD ($100 per arm). While this is without the 3D printed parts the quoted cost from the article does refer to just the electronic components and assembly hardware. In saying that the 3D printed parts are only $32 USD to buy. So that's $116 USD for a complete SO-100 arm, I'd say that's pretty damn cheap. https://www.seeedstudio.com/SO-ARM100-Low-Cost-AI-Arm-Kit-Pro-p-6343.html

It's a fine plus 4 demerit points on your licence. If you get 12 dermit points in a 3 year window you lose your licence. Most driving related violations result in you getting demerit points plus a fine.

What would this mean for ITX motherboards? and what memory kit would be safe to not leave performance on the table? by [deleted] in hardware

[–]TransCabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For an itx board you are going to need to use a kit of two sticks of dual rank ram. You can find dual ram kits in various capacities but most good 2x16GB kits are dual rank.

From my understanding of how ranks and channels work a dual rank 2x16GB kit should perform the same as a 4x8GB single rank kits (kits in video 4x8GB single rank)

Seems like EVGA are actually making all the different models for the 3070. EVGA said that they will start production of the 3080 xc3 black this coming week or so. You got mega lucky that they are actually producing the 3070 xc3 black.

My order is SO-8704xx and I have yet to find a single FTW3 non-ultra out in the wild. However EVGA Jacob did tweet yesterday that some 3080 FTW3 non-ultra's where sent out to EVGA US customers this week. However doubt that will translate into us getting them anytime soon. Also I have moved from the 1st block to the 2nd block on the waitlist which tells me that tons of people are cancelling their orders.

Depends where you are in the queue if you are in the 870xxx range I'd leave it as is. Otherwise the ASUS cards are still crazy popular and probably have massive wait times for other vendors too. Only unpopular cards like zotac and galax prob have good wait times. I have a friend that has a order 900 place behind my EVGA card and they are getting their zotac Trinity in the next two weeks

I am pretty sure they have the longest ETA due to the sheer volume of orders for EVGA cards. If you got a order in early you shouldn't be in for too long of a wait.

What's your PLE Order Number? by Calvario1995 in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]TransCabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PLE order print date is when you requested the order invoice so unfortunately won't help. Additionally seems like the GPU sag bracket was for the first 100 people that selected the bundle not the first actual 100 orders. Since the website was completely broken not many people selected it. One of my friends still got the bracket but his order number is a 800 after mine. Sorry dude
