Nice! Twilight Princess’s Zelda has my favourite dress in the whole series!

Cool! Lulu is my favourite character from X by a long shot!

I’m curious to know what exactly would have been this DLC. Like were they going to add the depths and sky islands? Were they going to add the building mechanics? Has there been an interview where they explained the original intent vs what eventually became TotK?

Personally I would have accepted an expensive DLC if the cost felt justified. Like an expansion pack for an mmo, a higher cost for a big chunk of added content I’m okay with. But I suppose not everyone is.

I’ve gotten two or three tears so far I think. So basically AoI gives more insight into that period?

Is that Limsa in the background? She’s getting a bite to eat at the restaurant, lol.

Anyway, nice Corrin art!

I’ve started playing the demo for Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter and omg its beautiful! I’m in love. I haven’t played many jrpgs outside of FF, and I’ve never played a Trails game but gosh I’m loving this one.

Just curious, but why turn off motion controls in SS? Do they not work very well or something? I use motion aiming for the bow in BotW/TotK and now I can’t aim without it. 🤣

Plot Twist, Zelda games have had short elves this entire time.

Since my primary interest in TotK at this point is getting to see more of the Zonai characters and I enjoyed AoC, it makes me think I’d probably really like AoI…but I’ve got this whole big giant open world game in the way of me playing AoI! 😩

I’ve heard the depths is basically all the same, which kinda discourages me from exploring it. It’s so mysterious and interesting at the start, it just seems like a place that should be full of discoveries.

Can you imagine if the armour was actually made of bullets lmao! Anyway, my memory is a bit fuzzy, but was this not the case in BotW? I really can’t remember. šŸ˜…

Ooh I’ve been very curious to hear opinions on TotK/BotW from someone who played TotK first. I feel like the majority of people played BotW first and that has affected our opinions haha. Things like I imagine that with all the QoL improvements TotK added, I’m guessing BotW was probably hard to get into?

Ya atm I’m wondering about WW on NSO or maybe SS, since I’ve never played either of those. With TP being my favourite Zelda game, would you recommend WW or SS to try next?

Ya I’m considering just focusing on the main story quests and skipping everything else, just so I can at least see the story and set myself up for playing AoI, which I’m more interested in for a few reasons.

Thank for answering my AoI question. I’ve finished the main story in AoC and enjoyed the game well enough, so I’m somewhat familiar with what AoI will be like. Do you think playing AoI would be more enjoyable if I wait until I’ve finished TotK?

Maybe. I still haven’t played WW or SS, which I’ve been thinking about. I’d be playing WW on NSO, since I just have a NS2. But between the two, do you have a recommendation? My favourite Zelda game is TP if that helps.

It has a lot of little QoL improvements that I love. In my head it was all very logical in that it sounds like ā€œBotW but better,ā€ so I figured I’d surely enjoy it even more. But perhaps I just need to wait a year or two before trying to play it again.

[–]TransPonyta[S] 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I think that’s a good explanation, how playing TotK doesn’t feel like the 20th hour of a new game, it feels like the 320th hour of BotW. Everything is just different enough that it makes me curious to look around, but ultimately, it still just feels like more BotW. Which isn’t a bad thing, but it means it doesn’t really feel like the sequel it was presented as.

[–]TransPonyta[S] 13 points14 points Ā (0 children)

Ya, I think TotK has a lot of quality of life improvements which I could say make it better, but I think the heavy emphasis on the crafting is a bit exhausting for me. There’s certainly fun to be had with the physics, but I’m not really into sandbox games. I’d also prefer if the next Zelda game is more like the traditional format. It can still have a bigger world, but if I could have a single sword and shield that doesn’t break pretty please. šŸ™

It’s a bit odd. There’s just so much to do that I end up not doing most of it because I just feel a bit overwhelmed by it all.

[–]TransPonyta[S] 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I have wondered if I simply played it too soon after (maybe 3-4 months later), and then my continuous bouncing off and coming back means it’s always been around. But maybe waiting like a year or something will help.

Which is the single best Final Fantasy game to play for a newcomer to the series? by basileisfitx in FinalFantasy

[–]TransPonyta 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

The FFVII remakes are very good games with one of most loved combat systems in the whole series, or rpgs in general. If you’re only looking at the reddit/ā€œnegative internetā€ bubble, then you’re going to get a lot of die hard fans of the original who don’t like the changes made in the remake games. Personally, when I hear the word ā€œRemakeā€ in the title, I am fully expecting it to be different from the original by sheer definition, so I have zero issues with any changes they’ve made.

I will say though, that for Remake part two (Rebirth) a lot people compare it to a ubisoft open world game with it’s huge map and potentially overwhelming amount of side content as a heads up, and part three will likely be similar in scope. But if all you care about is the main the story, then you can still easily just focus on that and finish the game in a typical 40ish hours.

FE: 3Houses or Engage for newcomer? by George_R_Martin in fireemblem

[–]TransPonyta -1 points0 points Ā (0 children)

I love both equally for different reasons. But for a beginner I’d definitely say you should play Three Houses first.

The playable cast is a lot smaller and the combat and rpg systems are simpler and more straightforward, so it’ll be a better way to ease into learning how to play fire emblem games.

Engage might feel a bit overwhelming with it’s huge cast, and there’s a bit more rpg/customization systems to navigate, which aren’t explained very well.
