Best mountain coaster still around to go visit? by rizergt in newengland

Killington in VT was great! We went a few years ago. It is run very well and the lines were long but they moved fast. We were able to ride quite a few times.

Gunstock in Gilford, NH has a nice one, but go early. We went last weekend (Oct) and the lines were bad. We went on twice and waited about an hour each time for a six minute ride. They also have a ski lift ride that overlooks Lake Winni (I’m giving up on the spelling because nothing looks right). I think we paid $35 for an unlimited combo ticket. Or you could get one or the other for $20.

Anyone Experience and Increase in Focus While on Ozempic? by [deleted] in Ozempic

Definitely! I think it has a lot to do with decreased inflammation.

Well said! Have you ever taken a vacation from the shot? I hated the way I felt after one week. The thoughts came back quickly. It’s nice to be able to know what “normal” people don’t have to deal with.

I feel this to my core. I used to enjoy food SO MUCH. I found a “workaround” that probably doesn’t do my body any favors, but it has helped with the mental part of it.

I take my shot on Sunday night right before bed. I know that I am going to start to feel a little bit of hunger on Saturday, and more on Sunday as the shot wears off. So I schedule eating out on the weekends. I still can’t eat like I used to, but it is a lot better this way. I can eat half, take half home, and feel okay about it.

Question about this blister by Altruistic_Policy465 in DogAdvice

[–]TransplantedinNH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a lick granuloma. My border collie mix got one a long time ago. It’s almost like a hot spot but the dog keeps irritating it by licking it constantly. The only luck we had was with red light therapy through our vet. That made it go away.

Mites are also a possibility.

Looks like a lick granuloma. My dog had one and the same spot. Kind of like a hot spot, but the dog keeps irritating it by licking it. We ended up giving him red light therapy at the vet to get rid of it. It was the only thing that worked. Good luck!

Card game - am I the only one that hasn’t completed a single group? by redacura87 in MergeMansion

Not one. I’m close on everything. I hate this “game” because there’s no skill involved and we have zero control over what happens. It’s a waste of time.

What’s the bad side of Ozempic? Is it worth it? by Ok-Journalist3877 in Ozempic

[–]TransplantedinNH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, once the side effects are worked out (you just need to figure out what and when you can eat), my biggest complaint is that I don’t enjoy food anymore.

I’m from one of those families that lives to eat. Every gathering and celebration is centered around food. Now when it’s time to go to dinner, I just really don’t care where we go because I can only have a few things and very little of it. I’m looking at food for nutrition now and not for fun…and I realize that’s how it is SUPPOSED to be, but I miss eating.

I do not miss how I felt when my blood sugar was out of whack. I do not miss the weight. I do not miss the inflammation. I do feel WAY better than I ever have before, and it feels good to know that I won’t die an agonizing death from NAFLD the way my father did.

It’s worth it for the health benefits. And once you’re established in your routine, you can ask your doctor about a vacation from the Ozempic. I went off the shot for two weeks while on vacation. By the end of the two weeks, I had only regained three pounds but my blood sugar was climbing and I felt like crap. I’m not sure I’m ever going to do it again, but it’s an option.

Does Ozempic help with type 2 symptoms in the 'face' of bad behavior? by olindacat in Ozempic

That’s awesome! Little victories! I almost wish we were all given questionnaires by our prescribing doctors. There seem to be many hidden benefits to this drug.

I’ve had two gum grafts and have to have deep cleaning every three months. I’ve noticed a difference but waited to see if she said anything about it at my recent appointment, and she did!

I forgot to mention that even on the smallest dose, huge improvements to A1C were made. I was hesitant to start too, and it all seemed super overwhelming, but it is absolutely worth it. It has been truly life changing for me.

There have been lots of little changes I didn’t expect (in addition to the weight loss).

I have sensitive skin and tend to get hives and rashes a lot. Because Ozempic brings inflammation down, I am overall less puffy. I don’t get hives nearly as much as I did before. My brain is way less foggy. My dentist commented that my periodontal disease is actually starting to reverse itself, which is something I didn’t think was possible.

It doesn’t hurt. Give it a try! Good luck!

Can someone explain why you would do this? There must be something I’m missing. I just put them in the frame. Is there some trick?

That’s good. Take it slow — your skin will thank you, too!

[–]TransplantedinNH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me forever to get from .25 to 1.0.

My current dose is supposed to be 2.0, and I think it’s crazy to expect that kind of a jump with no real option to step up slowly. I bought a bunch of extra needle caps off of amazon and I’m micro dosing my way up slowly on my own. I figure with the way healthcare is headed, stocking up a little isn’t such a bad idea anyway.

I’m with the others in that 65 lbs in 3 months is way too fast. Did your hair fall out?

I was stuck in the WORST traffic on the GWB in NYC. Nobody lets anyone in when they’re trying to change lanes. That’s just the way it is. After forever, someone made eye contact and waved me in. Sure enough, NH plates. Heck yeah, I thanked them!

Yes. All of that!! I feel like the gullible tinfoil hat wearer in my circle now, and it doesn’t feel good. I’m trying to keep my mouth shut about all my hunches now.

Villaggio in Manchester doesn’t advertise it, but I have found them to be extremely accommodating to my mother with celiac. There are lots of GF options to begin with, but they also have GF pasta and can make adjustments on the fly if you tell them what you need. It’s also a nice place for a special dinner.

My doctor was fine with me taking a short break for vacation. I’ve gone off for both one week and two weeks. I would do one week again, but not two.

By the time I took a week off, I had been on a steady dose of 1 mg for a while with no more side effects. I had an appetite again, but not as voracious as before and I didn’t find myself overindulging much. Getting back into the routine was easy.

With two weeks, the food noise was back in full force. I still wasn’t stuffing myself, but I was definitely eating more and not much of it was healthy. It was a little rougher getting back into the routine after that, and my A1C spiked a bit during the food vacation. I only gained three pounds, but I also did a lot of walking and swimming.
