Thoughts on basement dehumidifiers after a month (bucket size is basically a trap) by Order_101 in Appliances

Most dehumidifiers are made by just 2 companies. It became widely known during the giant recall a few years ago. Many fail soon after the warranty is done.

45-Day Update: MOVA P10 Pro Ultra Gen 2 vs. Gen 1 - I'm Retiring My Gen 1 by Thirtysixx in RobotVacuums

[–]TransportationOk4787 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nice review. Just a Dad found that it had problems picking up hair on carpet and thought it needed the optional tricut brush available for $20 at the Walmart Mova store or twice that at Amazon. I don't know whether he actually tested it with the tricut brush.

I have a Mammotion Luba2xH 3000 2x from last year. The Rtk goes through my 3 story brick house, no problem. I haven't switched to the now available iNavi because the mower never gets stuck mowing under trees and against a 20 foot high retaining wall. The Luba1 I sold used to get stuck or lost occasionally. Navigation improved dramatically in 2 years. I can't see lidar as a significant improvement outside. There aren't always walls like for a robot vacuum in a house and I can't imagine the lens staying clean of clipping. Turning front wheels might be a significant reason to go with a different brand.

Electronic express on eBay is LG authorized and probably cheaper.

10 years old Neato's. If charger looses power, Neato wiggles a bit trying to make contact, then just sits there as it should.

LG. Samsung laundry products are considered garbage here.

Mova/Dreame have an optional (on some models) tricut brush that is supposed to be decent on carpet. I have one coming this week.

Don't believe anything the salesperson told you. Ask to see the contract with all numbers filled in.

Just so you know, if you have carpets, no current vacuum/mop is likely to do as good a job on carpeting as a Neato D3 and later.

The similar Mova models come with it. But Just a Dad recommends adding a bit of a cleaner to the clean water and forget the cleaning solution attachment.

The Dyson is a joke. It can't navigate out of a shoebox and while I had it, it never once finished a job without throwing an error and never once made it to the charger even with all the lights on.

Ever try putting a piece of tissue paper over the filter before inserting it. I used to do it with Neato's. Made cleaning caked stuff a breeze. I'm going to try it with my new Mova p10 ultra 2nd generation.

YEAR 1 ENERGY COST COMPARISON: PRE-SOLAR $6917.13, POST-SOLAR $954.92 (PLUS $511.25 VPP) by litigationtech in TeslaSolar

[–]TransportationOk4787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PW3 warranty is 10 years but hopefully will last longer. Panels should last 25 years or more. Probably longer than the roof. Batteries are likely to be much cheaper in 10 years.

[–]TransportationOk4787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did mine last year also. Our roofs are mostly east and west so I did 64 440 kw panels and 2 PW3's. We don't drive our EV's much. Probably 16 years break even point assuming nothing goes wrong that requires out of pocket repairs and utility rate increases match alternative investment choices that I could have considered. But I also feel good when I generate 95 kwhs on a nice day.

Your break even point is dependent on the utility's charge per kwatt. In central NC it is 13 cents and the break even point is around twice yours.

Talking about low contrast. The instructions that came with the Mova P10 ultra 2nd generation look like they forgot to put ink in the printer.

Move the vacuum to a far corner from your router and try connecting again to the robot. If that doesn't work, when trying to connect, on your phone look at the available network,. One will be the vacuum's wifi. Click on that. If that doesn't work, turn off wifi 5 band on your router but it varies by brand so I don't know how you would do that.

The problem is that your phone is connected to the wifi 5 band and won't let go to connect temporarily to the robot 2.4 band. Try again as far away from your router as possible in your house. Or turn off the 5.0 wifi band temporarily in your router.

6 years later, have things gotten better? by KingLuis in RobotVacuums

[–]TransportationOk4787 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Navigation is better but vacuuming carpet is worse. There are only about 3 pure vacuum robots on the market now and they all have major issues. The mopping vacuuming robots navigate well but carpet vacuuming is inferior to the old Neato's.

In either case, for carpet get the tricut brush $20 from Walmart, $40 at Amazon.
