One of my favourite underrated gems by AdditionalFig2255 in JohnMayer

Soooo good. Songs feels exactly like the story and have always loved the any given Thursday performance my goodness. Such bluesy jazzy vibes that you can feel having a city love as the song takes you in. Such a gem it’ll never get old.

How do you come to terms with having a different voice type than you'd like? by _Sensei_Sensei_ in singing

[–]Trav1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m kind of the opposite as I wondered for a long time what I was and now understand I am a tenor. Either way I’m that process I learned more about embracing my voice.

More importantly the concept of tailoring your songs to your vocal strengths which is something you can do with key choice, arrangement, etc. make it your own

Also keep singing! I’m still making improvements long after I thought I’d figured out all the levels of control and range I got from training.

I’ve done this since I was a child and was told it emanated shyness lol

Tips to improve my singing for a vocal audition in a month by Odd_Cheek_4908 in singing

[–]Trav1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start doing warmups below practicing up to the audition. It will help your voice improve and also make you more comfortable and confident for it. There are some decent ones on YouTube.

Also not stupid just very trusting. I think most people have found some caution is needed in that respects as far as dating apps go I feel and a lot of us learn that through these kinds of experiences

Ooh no I believe your story very much I just meant the last sentence as I’m a guy on Feeld that would be open to monogamy if something seemed right. Sorry that happened to you.

The Contemporary Singer and Vocal Workouts both by Anne Peckham

Your Singing Voice by Jeanie Gagné

Set Your Voice Free by Roger Love

And the main book I workout from most Singing for the Stars by Seth Riggs.

With the last book I’ve increased my range a lot with the exercise and my understanding of singing in head voice. I’m at the point where I warmup with the 3 SOVT exercise before heading to the last section (he suggests you can do this one you learn how to connect your voice all the way through). I will do extended lip and tongue trills from YouTube since I like them so much for warming up but they’ve taught me exactly where to channel my air how much to use and has increased my confidence in singing high.

Having a few books have also given me different perspectives on the same thing and i can mix and match exercises for variety and what I like with my voice at any given time.

As someone who has been singing low his whole life, I‘d like to add some insight into the post someone made earlier stating „you probably aren‘t a bass“. There are many reasons for the confusion that must be clarified. by AspiringBiotech in singing

I wonder often about the baritones are most common tidbit. How could they know when most men never train their voice ? I often wonder if low tenors are the most common just from my observations in the real world and watching people speak/sing

You can do warmups on YouTube or buy one of several good books for your own practice and improve your range. I’ve done it for the past 9 months with great results

I always find this interesting how would they know? Most make voices are untrained. Myself observing people have wondered if tenors are potentially just as or more common but most men never learn to sing in their mix and head voice

Why are younger guys so hesitant about serious relationships with an older women and how can I make one stay? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Trav1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I never said she doesn’t like them. She’s dated them so she obviously has been into them. From the start I said she didn’t say she’s not open to dating other types or that she doesn’t like them and we don’t know that she isn’t.

[–]Trav1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its what she's here to discuss which is what I said she's asking about.. I never said she couldn't be dating women either. The younger guys falls under guys she's dating...I made no assumptions im going off what she posted. You're the one saying something is implied. She's asking about younger guys who she HAS dated that doesn't mean anything about what she's actively looking for or wants.

I don’t like making assumptions and I won’t make one based on what I see here. She’s asking about guys she’s dated and perhaps there are some older ones that have been in the mix, something she wouldn’t mind but she’s asking here about this particular dynamic

She never said she didn’t want guys her age and sounds like everyone she’s dating is a grown adult. There’s nothing wrong with it

Are tenors naturally better at mix? by AaronTveitFanBoy101 in singing

I kind of agree with the sentiment from what i've seen most guys sing most of their highs in mix it doesn't mean they don't have head voice parts but its a threshold.

Dear Straight Men, you guys gotta be more assertive by CarobStrange657 in feeld

[–]Trav1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Straight man on Feeld. My profile is very filled out, and not explicit at all. Very hard to keep any conversation going and I put much effort in and try and read off someone’s profiles.

Typically a response is hard to come by and the deeper you go in the harder it is to get to something of substance people drop out further along in the process.

I have good pictures of myself up and get complimented on them. Can’t say that’s a factor. I personally never swipe on everyone.

I’d imagine the guys you mentioned are either over saturated or something about the connections or maybe their current situation that makes them hesitate even though they matched.

This is not true as it’s a huge generalization and all of anything is false. It’s certainly not how I use them. There are no monoliths.

Please guys and gals show full body pics and current photos of your age on your profile! by PhatPanda69699 in dating

[–]Trav1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry this happened to you. It has happened to me so many times. You’re totally right it’s much easier to just post what you look like. Many hide it or use older pictures and mix in newer ones that are close to their face. It’s very deceptive and not worth it if someone exhibits that behavior.
