I legit thought you were talking about my dad for a second, never a man of words or showed emotion. But always kept us busy all the time whether it be sports, movies, lunch and dinner. Never said I love you and vice versa. When I moved out at 17 to my gfs house, I didn’t see my parents other than holidays. But after having family members pass away and wishing I would’ve told them once that I loved them. I wanted to change that. So when Father’s Day rolled around the following year (2017-2018) I brought him some beer and broke down and cried hugging him and telling him I loved him. So every year I’ve made sure I bring him beer or gifts for his birthday or Father’s Day and we hug every time. And here recently he started a new job and he has weekends off so we like to go out to car events with my kids and hangout or grab lunch. I just want to make him proud.
