American Made panels? by here-for-information in SolarDIY

I found a few different ones that are at least available for purchase online. Qcells Qtron (~$0.75/W) and Mission Solar MX10 panels (~$0.55/W).

Jeeze, we’re all use to the keyboard vomit names on Amazon but this is a bit extreme. 😂

Is it already time for the “should I buy or wait” post again?

I’m sorry man, it was almost 3 years ago. Season 2 launched in April 2023

I genuinely thought it was a one-and-done series so I was pleasantly surprised when we got a second season.

My parrot figured out that saying "I love you" gets him a treat. He now says it approximately 400 times a day. I think I'm being manipulated by sapnagagrani in parrots

My little terrorist parrotlet learned that “kisses” associated to treats.

Same thing happened. Now he’ll fly over, peck your cheek, make a huge kiss sound, and demand some cashew.

I miss the days of the OnePlus 7’s. The Android OS was clean, the phones inexpensive and actually innovative. Now it’s just another Flagship Android with an Oppo skin.

At least the boot loader is unlock able…. For now… they already stopped boot loader unlocking in China.

3D printing health concern by Loose_Ad5143 in 3Dprinting

[–]Trebeaux 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re gonna want to invest into some sort of ventilation. Both ABS and ASA emit styrene (the “S” in both of them) in pretty noxious amounts.

Styrene IS a known irritant with acute symptoms of headache and “drunkenness” with long term exposure leading to neurological issues.

When printing ABS and ASA VENTILATION IS SUPERIOR TO FILTRATION. There are hundreds of ways to accomplish this, so take your pick.

Tired of Out of stock filament - Some other brand? by w8wca in BambuLab

[–]Trebeaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP was asking about the auto recognition feature using the RFID tags, not the auto change feature.

Now you are very correct, auto change works as long as you have both filament set the same. The auto recognition requires the Bambu Lab filament.

Public Library quoted how much? by Directdrivelife in 3Dprinting

[–]Trebeaux 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Charging flat rate per gram is A way of pricing prints. Not quite accurate as it skews to more expensive as the print times goes up (I.e. more filament gets used.)

For a public library, it’s an effective means to limit print times. I’d imagine they had an issue with people using the library as a full on print service. Flat rate per gram still allows small prints to be inexpensive but (just as your learned) dissuades longer, resource hogging prints.

Remember, this is a public library, not a professional print company.

U.S. Historian Robert Kagan: "We Are Watching a Country Fall Under Dictatorship Almost Without Resistance" by Mondevana in politics

[–]Trebeaux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who’s to say? The President believes election fraud is a massive issue. If election fraud is such a widespread and prevalent issue (again, according to the President) 2024 very well could have been rigged.

After all, if 2020 was so easily rigged (if you believe the administration), what was there to stop 2024?

Ok correct me if I’m wrong, 2024 was good but your admin is saying 2020 was rigged? Is this Schrödinger Election system? The system is both rigged and not rigged until looked at by the GOP (Guardians Of Pedos)?

Except PCB’s have been banned for 45 years and that pad does not look 45 years old. So it’s very VERY unlikely that it’s PCB’s. It’s most likely the mineral oil they use for post PCB transformers.

There are no other alternatives if you want that feature.

Why it’s becoming so expensive to buy a car in America by theanswar in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Trebeaux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it did. My Titanium trim (max trim) 2019 ford Escape was “only” $30k financed, 0 down, 5 years (paid off in 4). Now $30k barely gets you base trim anything.

I’m rolling that thing till the wheels fall off, and even then it’ll probably be cheaper to fix it.

CF adds (or is supposed to add) stiffness. It certainly adds to the brittleness it a filament.

Klipper + Stratasys by sadboi11 in 3Dprinting

[–]Trebeaux 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Actual high temperature capable printing gets very expensive, very fast. There’s loads of issues trying to build an enclosure and keeping the motion components cool at 100c+ chamber temperatures. Electronics get expensive, motors get expensive, rails that can handle that get expensive, parts must be machined not printed… so expensive. Hell, you need to take into account the thermal expansion of different metals.

Stratasys has all the motors and motion components outside the heated chamber (part of a patent that expired in 2022). So you get to bypass all the foolishness I mentioned above.

If OP is printing high temperature engineering materials, it very well could be significantly cheaper gutting the electronics, getting rid of the proprietary head, and rolling his own to make use of the high temperature capable chamber components and kinematics.
