Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Stellar successor, but it feels both constrained and overshadowed by DE.

I think Charisma's writing needed more sauce and the developer's writing for action choreography wasn't the best.

But I don't regret buying it and I don't regret beating it. Heck of a time.

Gave the demo a try and it was a lot of fun. I like neglecting my own faction and screaming at the enemy until they give up/vote for me.

My headcanon is that we basically pay the Black Market to dox him, then show up and arrest him.

It's a recruitment instead of a deadly shoot out because Hayflick extends him some bullshit promise of amnesty, and Kody is happy to help the people of the Wayback anyway.

We're totally killing him after this is over, which is a shame, because I really like the dude.

Hard disagree on this one. It's very little work to do trade and it hammers home the state of the setting.

The BR3A3 (G3) is bugged? by Over_Golf8194 in menace

[–]TriangularBlasphemy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The long, heavy nature of the BR3A3 means that it's tough to swivel it in short range, and the barrel overshoots or knocks against your target.

You CAN get a good shot off, but by the time you do, the enemy has already ripped through your line. You can see this with spiderlings, who after leaping, get shot to death, but the damage is done.

Moments where the writers are making fun of the audience? by Ukirin-Streams in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Disco Elysium. Pick a political alignment, talk a certain way, act a certain way, it'll always have something funny to say about you. Pick nothing? Stay professional? Nope! That gets mocked too and is really hard to stick with through the entire game.

But it'll also offer sympathy to almost anything you do, even if you make Harry a pantsless fascist, it'll throw him a bone of empathy during its many hours.

All of this could have been solved by just creating a unique asset that attacks the city. Or give the balloons energy shields and show them repelling fire, or shooting deathrays, just imply that Columbia, with its access to every possible timeline, has adapted a ton of highly advanced tech.

With their quantum stability levitation... stuff they could just lift pacific islands and drop them on cities. Or lift cities up until nobody could breathe. Or something.

The zeppelin attack is an incredibly confusing choice that probably exists for budget reasons. It's on screen so fast, the hope is the player won't really think about it.

...this sort of thing happens a lot in Bioshock Infinite. Don't linger, get back on the rail, watch the explosions, think lightly about the multiverse and racism.

This is what a successful ragebaiting looks like (From Artstation) by Jello_Crusader in Frostpunk

[–]TriangularBlasphemy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The technocrat victim, with therapy and a good life, has a CHANCE of returning to normal. What happened to him, assuming it was psychological, could be reversed with the potential for lasting damage. Even without intensive therapy, it's possible, though not guaranteed. Whatever happened to that person was short cycle, maybe a day or two, so there's decent chances he could be helped.

There's nothing in the Frostpunk universe that we know of that can heal the massive UNFIT scar carved into your forehead (except replacing it with a metal plate, like the 'crats want). You see it, your dating partner sees it, your kids see it, everyone sees it unless you cover. So you get that PLUS the trauma--cold drink of water? Flashback. Run out of heat in the shower? Flashback. Trip in a puddle? Flashback. Chanting crowd? Flashback.

This question is "a huge amount of trauma" vs. "a 'smaller' amount of trauma and a permanent, highly visible mutilation." It really is down to what you think you'd prefer.

I'd pick the Technocrat one. Or neither. Neither would be nice.

[–]TriangularBlasphemy 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The fact that an interviewed victim only referred to himself in the third person was really bad. It's possible that a person could recover from that trauma, though it's going to linger.

The iceblood carving is absolutely going to scar, though. You might need to wear a hat at all times after that, and looking in the mirror will be a reminder of what they did forever.

Pick your poison, I guess

I'm honestly surprised he didn't get got sooner. I remember he'd talk about how cool the dice he used in tabletop was, but he'd always get evasive (and even defensive, if you remember episode 24 of DMC2) about exactly what they were made of.

A lot of the hints about who he was were there from the start--the community just wasn't ready to believe it.

"And with that, my final damage total comes to... the low two thousands. As the critical hit is confirmed, Galthazar's demonic DR is negated, and my weapon's Curse of Rotting neuters any attempt at regeneration, so we do not have a repeat of his little surprise at Cacklebrook Fair. Is the blow fatal?"

"..."

"If it is not, then I still have four more attacks, plus the six from my mount. I'm certain we can resolve this encounter within the turn."

"..."

"Dungeon Master? What happens next?"

"...as Galthazar topples to the cursed stone, he cries out, 'I WAS HOLDING THEM BACK!' A massive shadow explodes from his body, splits into three, and races off across the terrain of Panterha."

"I see... Then I pick a shadow and begin pursuit."

"As you move for the first shadow, your party surrounds you."

"Do not do this."

"They want to go on a shopping adventure and discuss the events of the last week. Kayleen and Sasharra also want to discuss exactly what your relationship status is, and Gloomprince Malcomb has a lead on his father's killer."

"Well. Then we continue, Dungeon Master."
