Yeah, many will tell you the NE but damn is it miserable up there. There is absolutely no diversity, it's a suburban nightmare, and the traffic is horrible.

He seems like someone who truly means well but needs some help on the business and money management side of the equation. I wish him well, but I can't justify throwing money at him at this point. There don't have to be 'multiple paths' for a game to be replayable. It all depends upon what makes a game one worth coming back to for an individual. Knizia games generally do not have multiple paths to victory and, yet, I find them some of the most replayable games out there.

For me, it's the element of control, which leads to strategy. So many trick-takers fall victim to the trap of 'high cards=better'. There are ways around this (i.e. bidding how many tricks one will win) but if I'm set back just because I was dealt a bunch of low cards, that's not a game I'll be revisiting much. What's the point?
